Reccomend me great movies with Jack Nicholson

Recommended Posts

My mom and dad just asked me to find some nice films with Jack Nicholson, preferably something in comedy, romance genre and I was wondering if some of you can help me with my search.

I´m not that familiar with his movies, although I did watch One Flew Over Cuckoos Nest and Batman, which were great but other than that I haven´t seen much from him.

My mum generaly likes romance and comedies, but you can reccomend me some more somber flicks, I don´t mind.

Well can you go wrong with Batman? Unless your parents really hate superhero stuff.

Just to let you know The Shining is not a comedy.

Oh shoot forgot to mention that we already saw it, gonna update my post. Most of us are somewhat lukewarm on superhero stuff, I usualy preffer pre-MCU superhero films, while mum rolls her eyes over them.

I remember seeing repeatedly Mars Attacks! on television as a kid and being fairly amused by it. Also, very recently I read that Norman Jayden's voice and mocap actor from Heavy Rain, Leon Ockenden, got inspiration for the character's dialogue from the Boston accents on The Departed, which I kinda want to see.

As Good as it Gets is a pretty decent rom com that he stars in. China Town is an absolutely fantastic movie, despite the director being a garbage human. A ton of other talented people worked on that film though. One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest is a great film, not funny and can be hard to watch but a great film. Then there is Wolf, it's absolutely campy but can be fun to watch this time of year.

It's about as happy-go-lucky as any other Scorsese, but The Departed is definitely a good one, and no matter how hard they try, Rick and Morty will never make nihilism look as cool as Nicholson did in that film.

Really curious to check it out, not just because of what I mentioned about Heavy Rain (and Jack Nicholson, of course) but also because Vera Farmiga appears in it as well, and I just kinda like Boston in general (The Mighty Mighty Bosstones are my fave band).

This is kind of a random oddball choice, but I picked up a DVD of About Schmidt when all the Blockbusters were shutting down ages ago, and I ended up watching it several times. It's a mix of funny and sad. If anyone in your family likes Kathy Bates it comes doubly recommended.

Anger management, unless they really hate Adam Sandler. Wolf is probably better this time of year though. He's done loads of comedy but Jack's best as slightly creepy or crazy characters.

I second "As Good As It Gets"... your mom will love it, maybe you will too. "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" and "The Shining" would be my choice picks - but your mom will NOT like those (well, maybe the former, but certainly not the latter).

"As good as it gets" is brilliant. Highly recommend and seems a good fit with what you are looking for!

Also "Somethings gotta give" is really good and may be better for a more mature audience.

Both are great.

My mom is anything but lame, she just prefers more uplifting movies since her work is very stressfull.
