jmpt16 Posted November 27, 2022 I want to try making some midis for a possible map WAD, and I want to know what's the best way to do so. What do you guys use? 3 Share this post Link to post
Doomkid Posted November 28, 2022 I use Sekaiju and TuxGuitar personally, always found them the easiest to understand! 4 Share this post Link to post
Thelokk Posted November 28, 2022 Sekaiju, but I've been recently suggested FL Studio and I'm making the switch. 1 Share this post Link to post
TheMagicMushroomMan Posted November 28, 2022 Accoustica Mixcraft, accessible but powerful. 2 Share this post Link to post
Lippeth Posted November 28, 2022 A combination of Logic Pro and Sekaiju, with the occasional use of Reaper and Pro Tools. I've used Cubase, FL Studio and Cakewalk in the past in an attempt to get away from Logic Pro and Apple but could never fully acclimate. 2 Share this post Link to post
Herr Dethnout Posted November 28, 2022 (edited) Domino, is the most versatile midi daw I've ever found, and can edit sysex without using hexadecimal programing, a Big plus. Is actually pretty intuitiva and if you are familiar with FL Studio, the switch is pretty easy. Also, it has a almost complete english translation. More than enough for me. 2 Share this post Link to post
jmpt16 Posted November 28, 2022 Thanks guys, I think I'm gonna stick with Sekaiju. Just works the best for me imo. 1 Share this post Link to post

IcarusOfDaggers Posted November 29, 2022 I found TuxGuitar to be the most accessible. 1 Share this post Link to post
knifeworld Posted November 29, 2022 I use Sekaiju 6.1 currently. Check for 10 in the Output slots, then hit arrows to cycle through drum flavours under Program Number. 2 Share this post Link to post
knifeworld Posted November 29, 2022 (edited) that was spooky... when I replied I only saw your above question about drum types. Now it looks like I just dropped that post in at random. Never seen that happen. But back on topic, no problem, glad to help! 0 Share this post Link to post

Nikku4211 Posted December 3, 2022 It's not a real MIDI editor, but I use OpenMPT to make MIDIs using its MIDI export function. 1 Share this post Link to post
Deadwing Posted December 3, 2022 Cakewalk for me, I'm way too used of its interface to change >.< 0 Share this post Link to post
DannyMan Posted December 3, 2022 I really don't make original MIDIs, but I use Synthfont 1 0 Share this post Link to post

bofu Posted January 1, 2023 Noteworthy Composer. It's an older program, but as someone who's more used to using sheet music to compose, it works for me. 0 Share this post Link to post
