Doom 2 in a continuous map

This is Doom 2 in a continuous level. The first map is a pointless room to warp to map30 for the epic journey. I replaced map30’s music with an hour loop of Doom 2’s songs. It would have drove me nuts to hear the same song over and over again ahahaha! I have a special message at the end! This WAD will be unavailable to the public due to Copyright concerns. 

 

The key cards become pointless after the first few levels, I replaced the keys with door switches or walk over switches to open the key doors. This forced me to play the game as it was intended to be played.

Nice curious job! Since it's already a limit-removing map, you could theoretically go one step further and use ACS scripting to automatically switch the songs as you navigate through the corresponding maps!

Nicely done. There's a map with a similar concept by Eternal, called Memorial.wad, but that one's for Boom-compatible ports and takes some liberties with certain maps. I'd like to see this sort of thing done with Doom 1, perhaps adhering to the rough layout of the intermission screen maps.

Or you replace the second yellow skull key card by the evil purple dildo.

This WAD is new. I started making maps in 2019 and stopped abruptly when I discovered Blender & 3D animations. A few years later I started making maps again in September of 2022.

Im not really sophistcated enough to do videos. I can tell you exactly where and what though. In the "third lvl" the teleporter that is supposed to take you over on to the machine gunners piller dosnt work and when you drop down into the secret in that same room, that teleporter dosnt work. The teleporter that takes you to the end room works fine but in said end room one of the "boxes" of demons didnt lower and let them out. Also in the "fourth lvl" i was unable to get the plasma secret to open. Hope this helps. (Damn i wish i knew anything at all about taking vids)

I'll check it out when I have time, I did the first half of the game on Doom Builder and the software isn't good at showing which tag is connected to which sector. I had to replace every tag sector so they didn't over lap with other maps. There maybe other issues with the teleportation between new maps, I noticed in one of the maps I had the teleporter set to a one time use and when a dead demon hit the teleporter, it was useless LOL

I fixed the issue. Yeah the teleporters weren't even close to correct sector. Here's the new and updated WAD file

The teleporters are fixed 😀 and the demon box in the last area came down this time, dont know if it was just an odd ball or something you fixed. I did have my lvl wrong though, its the plasma secret on lvl 5 I couldnt get open. Im about to try again, Ill let you know... and anyother anomolies i run across. Thanks again for this. I cant put my finger on why but it tickles my fancy.

Well well well. A teleporter in tricks and traps took me all the way into the middle of like lvl 17 or something. Its the center telporter in the pain elemental room

This kiiiinda exists, doesn't exactly adhere to the intermission screens but from what I played the level transitions were pretty decent. It's called DOOM:ONE https://www.moddb.com/mods/doomone
