KDX Downloads have been fixed + New Build 4.2.96 !

Folks, I have fixed the KDX downloads, but mainly
the KDX-4-2-RC2-KINGSIZE (51 MB)

This one works now as single file download.

It is 51 MB, because it has 21 sourceports in it,
currently all sourceports I was able to get working
under Windows XP :)

51 megs?! Ain't happenin', sorry King. :( However, that's all the ports in one exe, so people with broadband connections (or a 56k and a buttload of patience) should check this out. :)

That is huge, isn't it?

But there is also a Core release, just a few KB. This one is enough
if you just want to take a fast sniff into the stuff.

Note: KDX will also run if you ONLY have the kdfrontend.exe (277 KB)
and a few KDX sourceport configuration files (*.kpc)

It creates all other necesary config files in "self-energy"

There is also the KDX CD Release in progress: 5 GB of Doom stuff
on 3 CD's, coming very soon. That is even way too much for
those broadband guys :P

Is this CD stuff all just off the idgames archive? You should probably check the copyright notices in the WAD txt files to make sure you have the right to do this.

I guess it is no problem, since

-The CD's are not sold for profit

-It is something like "download-on-demand", for users with very low bandwith connections

-I have kept all files intact as required by the WAD text templates

-Most (I have not checked all) allow to distribute in any electronic format

-It is a CD from a Doom-Fan for Doom-Fans (an appeal to comperativement not to sue me)

No. It's the other way round (opt-in, not opt-out): unless you have permission to distribute each file (either a blanket "you may distribute..." in the text file, or else specific permission from the author to you), then you may not distribute them. That's just basic copyright principles.

- I don't distribute it (to make things clear). If I ever used the
word "distribute", it was because english is not my native language :)
I only give a copy of free downloadable stuff to my friends on demand

- I have doubts anyone who was that nasty to include a term like
"..may NOT be distributed on CD" will sue me for that. That will
be to expensive. There is still a difference between have right
and become right.

EDIT:

I just made a quick scan on the stuff, there are only a handful
of authors not whishing their stuff to be distributed on CD.
So I just delete them and I'm finished.

When i try to install the new KDX which you updated a few days ago it wont install, it gives me this error - "only part of a readprocessmemory or writeprocessmemory request was completed". Whats wrong?

Hmm, it can be of course possible, that there is some
incompatibility with the installer or whatever.

All I know is the message I got when I double clicked on the EXE file which i told you about, I'm not sure what else you're looking for, I tried changing the compatibility but none of them worked. If you could tell me what you're looking for then leave a message here, or email me at hassinrasool@hotmail.com with some instructions with what you're looking for, i would be glad to help you sort this problem out.

Sorry, the download is broken again,
the error happened due to bad transmission
of the downloaded file.

It is way to hard to find a free server
nowadays, allowing large files.

Anyway, maybe I can get rid of that problem
if somebody is so kind to provide me some space.
