Anyone have info on how the end room (after teleport) works in E1 M8 after the Bruiser Brothers bosses?

Recommended Posts

When you enter the teleporter to end the level you get taken to a place where many enemies shoot at you and you die but still complete the level. Does anyone have any information about how that room works? Any info at all would be of interest and if you know the answer to these questions then please let me know.

Is that room actually part of the map?

Does the level end automatically after a couple of seconds of being in that room or only when your health reaches zero?

Is there anything you can do to stay in there longer or prevent you dying such as using an invulnerability cheat?

Can you actually kill any or all enemies in that room and do those deaths count towards the kill count?

Here's a video of someone who said they managed to kill everything in that room but it's difficult to see if that's true because it's so dark:

It's simple: The room has a special damaging floor that ends the level when your health reaches below 11%. More infos on the different types of damaging floor can be found here: https://doomwiki.org/wiki/Damaging_floor

You can also take a look here: https://doomwiki.org/wiki/E1M8:_Phobos_Anomaly_(Doom)#Technical_information

Yes, that room is part of the same map/level. Why wouldn't it?

No, you can't do anything to stay there longer because the "God mode cheat is nullified", to quote the doomwiki.

Sure, with a bit of luck and skill you can kill all the enemies and yes, they count to the kill count.

Hope I didn't miss anything!

Thanks for the info. Sometimes I just don't know what to search for on that site even when it's obvious. For some reason I only looked at the Baron of Hell page.
