BlueSonnet Posted February 23, 2003 On a recent trip to check out doom music on doom depot (btw thanks Elbryan42) a question sprang to mind. What's your favourite version of the original doom tunes? Mine's the 3DO version. http://depot.wrong.button.com/music.html (btw the help you understand what i mean the psx, saturn, doom64 tracks don't count) 0 Share this post Link to post

What i basically mean is along the direction of "does At doom's gate in 3do doom sound better than At doom's gate in gba doom, or does the midi version of the song kick both of their asses?" And yes Remixes count. :) 0 Share this post Link to post
DarkWolf Posted February 23, 2003 Original MIDI + Good soundfont are the best, IMHO. 0 Share this post Link to post

Quite cool stuff. http://remix.overclocked.org/detailmix.php?mixid=OCR00740 0 Share this post Link to post

dsm Posted February 23, 2003 They're a lot better than the Doom64 tracks and the Quake 1 tracks - you know my take on these - but I still think the original midis are far better than anything else. Simply because they seem more varied instead of all that ambience only. I just missed a good metal/industrial track in there. 0 Share this post Link to post
Job Posted February 24, 2003 My fave is kind of dated. I remember the MP3s of the Roland Doom music. I loved that stuff. It made me really want a Roland sound card.../me drools... 0 Share this post Link to post
sethsez Posted February 24, 2003 I love the original MIDIs. Sure they sound dated, but I wouldn't have it any other way. 0 Share this post Link to post
pritch Posted February 24, 2003 Midi rules, as a genre and as a format. PSX Doom music was awesome as well though... 0 Share this post Link to post
Torn Posted February 24, 2003 map09's music (into sandy's city, IIRC) will forever be the best music... :) 0 Share this post Link to post

Doom-Child Posted February 27, 2003 That Epiclore cover absolutely kicked ass. I'm a music fiend, so I try tend to get caught up in what I'm listening to, and the transitions just blew me away. There's also a remix on Overclocked of Sandy's City, I think, that's just freakin' awesome. DC 0 Share this post Link to post
Bloodshedder Posted February 27, 2003 This looks like a good place to plug DW's Doom music remix page again. 0 Share this post Link to post
