Kareff Posted February 24, 2003 How can I change the DOOM MIDI files??? 0 Share this post Link to post
myk Posted February 24, 2003 The WADs contain MUS files, not MIDI files, so, technically speaking, you can't change what isn't there. Take that, newbie! 0 Share this post Link to post
Amaster Posted February 24, 2003 Oh come on, be nice. Like Myk said, DooM uses the MUS format. You can find a MIDI to MUS comverter in the Doomworld utilities pages, I believe. To add them to a wad, you would use a resource editor like Wintex (also in the editing and utilities pages). Also note that advanced ports like ZDoom can read MIDI directly. 0 Share this post Link to post

m0l0t0v Posted February 26, 2003 The easiest way I know of changing the music is by importing new mus-files with the very user friendly NWT. (doesn't involve any source port stuff) (midi-mus converters can be found with a google search) Good luck with you project... 0 Share this post Link to post
Torn Posted February 26, 2003 Kareff said:How can I change the DOOM MIDI files??? <--- Points to his title... 0 Share this post Link to post
Scientist Posted February 27, 2003 To sum it all up for ya: -Take a midi-file -run it through midi2mus now you've turned it into a mus file -put it in a pwad with NWT NWT can be found here (under Graphics (the doomworld-link didn't work for me)) you'll have to look up midi2mus with google (don't have a link handy right now) Oh, and make sure the midi you wish to convert is not to big, otherwise midi2mus can't handle it. 0 Share this post Link to post
deep Posted February 27, 2003 I think DeePsea or XWE might be a lot easier for Windows users to import a MID (or any lump) into a PWAD. DeePsea sbsoftware.com XWE http://www.doomworld.com/xwe 0 Share this post Link to post
