Adding Textures

Recommended Posts

I've been wondering what is the best way to add new textures to my Cyberdemon.wad? I only really want to use the programs Deepsea, Windeu, or NWT to add them or is this impossible? It would put a new ZING to my maps.

If you're using WinTex, open your wad, go to Advanced -> Edit Textures. There you can create new texture and add patches to them.
If you're using DeepSea then RTFM (hint: use the F7 key).

You may also want to consider XWE, which is a free DooM editing utility. Inserting graphic patches and creating texture names is very easy. DeepSea is also very good for inserting patches and creating textures.

Easiest: NWT...
1. Open NWT (in dos or windows)
2. Find the texture you want to replace in the list
3. press F8 and fill in the name of your texture and your pwad
(make sure they're in the same directory as doom2.wad and nwt.exe)
4. that's it...

Good luck with your project!
