FourLoko Salad Posted May 16, 2023 It gets easier with practice, both making good maps, and not holding your work to other maps. The thing that matters most is having fun. 2 Share this post Link to post
BoxY Posted May 16, 2023 Quality wise my maps are always extremely ugly and poorly designed at a technical level but I almost always enjoy actually playing them and that's what it's all about. 2 Share this post Link to post
Roofi Posted May 16, 2023 (edited) The biggest difficulty is not being a good mapper or not, which is highly subjective, it's rather keeping a constant pace and not losing the motivation quickly. I can make elaborate doom maps but I quickly lose my energy so I actually spends few time mapping and just finishing a map without giving up is an achievement itself. 1 Share this post Link to post
Dreamskull Posted May 18, 2023 (edited) Ive said it before, but I take too long to do anything. I feel like I could improve things, but on the overall im satisfied with what Ive completed already. Just make sure that the maps you do make are at least fun or challenging to play. Its easy to get sucked into thinking it could have been better, but thats a mental trap. Do what you do for your own satisfaction, not for others. Time spent is a familiarity, thats the consolation. Edited May 21, 2023 by Dreamskull 1 Share this post Link to post

Jack9955 Posted May 19, 2023 There's always at least one person to like my map. Bad is subjective. 1 Share this post Link to post
