I do worry about you sometimes, @DSC and I think you should probably spend a little less time worrying about what other people think of you or fretting over the words of bitter, out-of-touch novelists and bald, overpaid podcasters. Instead, I think you need to spend more time discovering your inner-self; perhaps engaging in some other activities that don't involve staring at a screen all day. Read some books, develop some new hobbies or passions. You're idea of pursuing game development is an excellent start!

Regardless, I don't have a issue with you personally and don't consider you a nuisance. If anything, you have certainly provided some of the more interesting discussion threads in Everything Else in Ajora's absence hehe ;^P

I was trying to figure out quite how to phrase what I wanted to say in response to this but Bio nailed it, so I will simply say "This".

It seems I'm fine with everybody here, and that's great! Glad to see I'm still welcome here :)

Well, yes I understand, I should keep in mind the whole "don't care for what others think of you" angle, and that my own sense of self-worthiness should come just from me, but I'm still happy knowing the community still accepts me. I said it on my last comment, I believe there's a world of difference between some random asshole spewing bullshit I find on TV and/or online, and a mostly very warm and welcoming community, undeniably filled with lots of talent. In this instance, I think my actions of trying to fit in such a place can be excused a little, since I'm trying to be in good terms not to someone that doesn't deserve my time and attention, but to a bunch of very fine people that I have no regrets interacting with.

Man I've got bad news for you if you think anyone who posts on Doom forums is "cool".

Well, I guess if you were to be the popular kid in school who got all the chicks, was the first in sports and had lots of money, sure, those kinds of people would look down on us. But I'm a big nerd. Always have been one. I don't really care what those people would consider to be cool or not: to me, the classic Doom community is absolutely a kickass place filled with awesome people!

As most of you know, over the past years where I've been present on DW, I sometimes had some, lets call them "breakdowns". And honestly, after looking back on them, I start feeling like an absolute jackass, that kept bothering and annoying you all, without giving anything in return. To this day my biggest contribution to the community is still that "React To The Profile Pic Above You" thread, which is a pretty sad legacy to have. But in the meantime, I just wanted to ask, do you think I truly was a big nuisance like I'm making it out to be and that's made me earn a certain "reputation", or I'm just overreacting and my previous incidents aren't really worth thinking about very much now? Am I cool with you guys and can call you my friends? Can I leave the past behind?

I have not really been here much, but if you were an asshole you probably would have already been banned. Not to diagnose, but it is possible you might have GAD and/or RSD which can really mess with you and give a false sense of danger or not being liked.

Thankfully, I'm thinking of pursuing a career related to video-game development, so in the future I might gain the skills necessary to remedy that.

Best of luck with your career goals!

I think you might be oversharing at times, but if anything, I applaud you for your willingness to make yourself vulnerable and for caring about the impact you might have on others; way too many people on the Internet treat others like non-playable characters rather than fellow human beings.

I guess at the end of the day, it is a matter of figuring out where your time and attention are best focused, and it is not on bad-faith actors.
