Spawning Hexen's Poison Cloud in ZDoom

I need to be able to spawn hexens poison cloud using scripting. The graphics have all been included my wad and if I type 'summon poisoncloud' at the console one does appear. But I don't seem to be able to spawn one with a script.

Is the poison cloud spawnable? What thingID or name should i use in the Thing_Spawn command?

Don't use thing_spawn. It can only be used for items that are defined as names in zdefs.acs. You can use spawnspot instead.

Spawnspot allows you to spawn items by their actor name (the same name as is used for the summon command)

From memory the syntax is

Spawnspot ("ActorName", tid1, tid2, angle);

Actor name is case sensitive (IIRC)

tid1 is the tid of a map spot where the item will appear

tid2 can optionally give the spawned item a tid

angle is the same as for thing_spawn
