another reason i hate my computer

i play a lot of games on my computer, which is pretty normal. however, i've been having a problem lately: the game will randomly get stuck and my character will end up going towards one direction. i fix it by holding down in the opposite direction then pressing the key of what it's stuck in. it's pretty damn annoying. does anyone know how to permanently fix this problem?

Some other background program is stealing keyboard input from your game, so you let off the key but it doesn't register to your game. This is why you have to press it and let off it again, so it gets registered. Try closing every background application you can.

I have had that happen.It sounds like the joystick problem.If a joystick is not in the midde when ya start a game.The joystick will start messing up.
