You’re forgetting the massive way Doom reentered pop culture the following year. Obviously it was never dead but it wasn’t popular among the age group that write creepypastas till then haha.

There's one about "Theatre", an obscure 1990s game that was based on Doom Engine or had a similar look, I don't remember.

At least, I saw recreation of creepypasta for GZDoom.

I haven't seen many creepypastas about Doom, particularly, but sadly, most creepypastas, especially recent ones, are badly made, though I like that genre.

I think you might have misunderstood me lol, I wasn't being mean to you. I was saying that you can make a fun drinking game out of Midnight's channel by picking random wads from idgames and taking a shot for every one that Midnight peed and shitted his pants over. My memory might fail me on this one, but I believe somewhere there's a Creepypasta based on rootpain.wad, although it was more or less just a recounting of a normal playthrough and finding stuff like the name of the fetus enemy, the quit messages, etc, with your general exaggerated writing about what the player experiences.

 

I guess in general rootpain.wad is the closest to a Creepypasta made into a Doom wad? It's more of an interesting footnote on general Doom weirdness than anything else though, like The Sky Might Be.

I definitely have some choice opinions on the various analysis videos that propped out about MyHouse.wad, but that's maybe a topic for another thread.

 

But just in case anyone is curious enough:

I think one of the biggest issues I have with most essays is the fact that very few, if any, analyse MyHouse.wad from the point of view of the community and the culture around PWADs—Pyrocynical's on the okay side of the scale since he did review Total Chaos beforehand, giving him some startup, and did watch DavidXNewton's videos where he picks apart every one of the tricks that MyHouse uses, while PowerPak's the bad side of the scale since a lot of the "suspense" he creates is basically not doing some basic research on Boom linedefs and UDMF features, which for someone like me—who has some knowledge on how these things work—it comes off as very dumb.
