It would be really nice to go see live music again. Last weekend I saw real good classic Blues though.

I think the only band I've seen live was this one of my country called Estelares. I went to a spring festival nine years ago that took place in a coastal zone of my city, and I didn't know they were gonna play but I was going with a girl who loved that band and said that they were an awesome group to have as your first concert. I wish I would get to see more shows.

so fucking jealous.

Truth be told I saw Pantera last summer so it wasn't the golden years lineup obviously but they played one hell of a show, and had a nice tribute video to the Brothers.

Well piss, if it counts, my high school band/woodshop teacher played in live shows. Maybe one day I'll see him again, say my hellos to him, and have him laugh his damn ass off for a very specific reason I will not disclose :^)

I saw The Birthday Massacre last year in March, including a preshow meet and greet, they're awesome and have been one of my all-time favorites since discovering their music in 2009.

Man, I would kill to see Candlemass live. Was Ministry any good? When I went to see them they were pretty dire.

  • Type O Negative

I love Type O Negative but damn Peter sounded so bad live sometimes. Occasionally they would knock it out of the park though.

All of them, so far. Haven't seen a dead one yet.

Hawkwind (twice)

Motörhead

Gong

Ozric Tentacles (a few times)

Dead or Alive

Roy Harper

and a few others (esp at Midtfyns Festival, but I forget who was there*).

Main regrets were missing Iron Maiden and Marillion (IIRC, I had a ticket but it was cancelled).

* Looking it up, there was Simply Red, TV-2, Joe Cocker, Marillion(!), Curtis Stigers, Glenn Frey, Gnags, Procol Harum, Gun, Roxette and Suzi Quatro. So them too. I was there each day because I was on a chess club stall playing all comers for a few kroner, which also gave me a full pass for everything. It was muddy, but just a few stops on the train from home.

Motörhead was at the Corn Exchange (Cambridge), which was much too small a venue given that they clearly were not interested in turning down the volume: square-wave clipping galore! Hawkwind had a supporting band (The Babysitters) that was generally disliked (they were not only awful, but a terrible fit stylistically), so they must have had a miserable time; many attendees went to multiple venues on the same tour, and roundly booed and insulted them as soon as they took the stage.

Forgot the Cambridge May Ball, so add Circus Circus Circus and George Melly.

And the Taste of Minnesota, so add Elvis Costello.
