Catfoolyou Posted December 2, 2023 (edited) Yet another 11 map partial conversion for Doom 2. Think Rowdy Rudy meets Scythe, complete with new weapons, monsters, music, a truckload of textures and some more dehacked crap based on the Boiled Doom engine. Almost all of the maps are techbase, with a distinct Aliens TC feel. Original community project thread here: IWAD: Doom II Compatibility: Limit removing Build time: About 8 weeks over the course of 7 months. Cant speak for the others, but I was really slacking off. Download: Wolfhound.zip Screenshots: Spoiler Map list: MAP01 - Entry point by TheCatCommander and dmh094 MAP02 - Down and out by TheCatCommander, dmh094 and myself MAP03 - Lemuria by TheCatCommander MAP04 - Gateway station by Guywithteacup, TheCatCommander, dmh094 and myself MAP05 - Hydroponics by TheCatCommander MAP06 - Estelik by TheCatCommander MAP07 - Showdown by myself MAP08 - Descent by myself MAP09 - Substation 119A by TheCatCommander and myself MAP10 - Last stand by myself MAP11 - Wolfhound by myself MAP31 - Cloudspire by TheCatCommander MAP32 - Chrysopoeia by Sandy v1.1 update changelog - Fixed Icon of Sin spawn spots - Fixed misc texture bugs in a few maps Edited December 5, 2023 by Catfoolyou 15 Share this post Link to post
Walter confetti Posted December 3, 2023 (edited) Congrats for the release! A map list of "who made what" Is much more appreciated imo 0 Share this post Link to post

Average Posted December 3, 2023 (edited) I am having problems getting this to run properly on anything other than GZDoom. Woof!, Nugget and DSDA Doom show garbled graphics when I start a game Eternity shows chequerboard textures and Crispy just doesn't load (no error or anything). Is this user error? If so, what are the loading instructions? I've tried drag and drop and initially I tried Doomrunner. Cheers for any guidance. EDIT: To clarify, I am loading up the two extra files that are included along with the actual pWAD. 1 Share this post Link to post
Somniac Posted December 4, 2023 This works fine for me on Crispy Doom just dragging the files (minus the -deh patch) onto the exe. Playthrough of MAP01-04: Its pretty good! Definitely has an air of 90s partial conversions and also reminds me of newer stuff like Rowdy Rudy. Some nice map geometry on display and solid MIDI choices. I noticed some misaligned textures, mainly switches. Would be cool to see mapper credits though! Will return to this soon. 1 Share this post Link to post
FearTheReaper Posted December 4, 2023 (edited) What's the commandline sequence for this? Because on Eternity it's either crashing on startup no matter what the order of wads or showing lack of textures glitch if I try use -merge. 0 Share this post Link to post
DRON12261 Posted December 4, 2023 (edited) Please compile everything into one wad, splitting it into multiple required files is not very cool and problematic for the player. Otherwise it looks interesting. But so far it's unplayable for me. 0 Share this post Link to post
LadyMistDragon Posted December 4, 2023 Ok, Descent into Cerberon was an excellent choice, not to mention that map being a visual tour de force of the wad anyway! 1 Share this post Link to post

Maybe you have an older version? 0 Share this post Link to post
Night Crawler Posted December 5, 2023 @CatFoolYou: Loving it so far - really good as far as I'm concerned. Only one small issue so far: Map 6 has some texture issue in the area where the blue keycard is located. At the bottom of the area, to the right of the lift, some of the textures have gone missing. Not giving you grief - that's the last thing I wanna do ... I just play doom mods, and love the fact people can do this and I can't! Please keep modding - I love this stuff! Cheers! 0 Share this post Link to post
NovaRain Posted December 5, 2023 (edited) It seems you accidentally included Doom2 IWAD and an older backup of Wolfhound-doom2.wad in the zip file. 0 Share this post Link to post
