Kule1Toxic Posted August 12 I remember playing that on my dad's windows xp computer back when I was a wee lad, and had no fucking idea how to play it, so I just clicked randomly. I still play it, but I still suck at it. 1 Share this post Link to post
TheMagicMushroomMan Posted August 13 I've played it a couple of times but I'm more of a linesweeper. 3 Share this post Link to post
Teo Slayer Posted August 13 That's a classic one. I used to play it a lot during PC classes in school. I still like to revisit that game for Nostalgia (it happens rarely though). The funniest part is that no matter how much I replay it, I still suck at it 2 Share this post Link to post
DrRock Posted August 19 There is a feature-rich Minesweeper variant created by the guy who also made PixelShips. It used to be a paid Shareware game but the author decided to change it to freeware a few years ago alongside the PixelShips sequel. It's pretty sweet. 0 Share this post Link to post
unerxai Posted August 19 In the Win 3.1 days, I never learned how to play Minesweeper, so I'd just play games like Rodent's Revenge and Klotski instead. 1 Share this post Link to post

Redneckerz Posted August 29 At Evoke a new version of Minesweeper was released. Supersmall: https://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=97543 1 Share this post Link to post
ETTiNGRiNDER Posted August 29 Monkeyman Want Banana Well ok, jesting aside that game looks more like Minesweeper than plays like it, although they're both mini puzzley sort of things, and I remember them both and that they tended to be a thing for a particular sort of bored mood. 0 Share this post Link to post
Grazza Posted August 30 (edited) Just a stray thought. Years ago, a very good Minesweeper player mentioned that you can save a lot of time by *not* marking the mines (there is no strict need to do so) - remember/recognize where they are and solve around them. This makes the game a lot harder of course, but I imagine that with some practice and a lot of built-up pattern recognition you can keep the mine locations in your head well enough. I have tried it a bit, and quickly got confused. Maybe something more to bear in mind for the "mopping up" part of solving. Edit: or on relatively easy modes, I can handle that, albeit with a lot more early bomb-outs, but quicker times when successful. Not bothering to mark them may also be rather appealing if you play using a touch screen (rather than a mouse), as needing to do long clicks to mark mines feels annoyingly time-wasting when you are trying to solve quickly, and rushing them has a rather obvious drawback. BTW, I found a "9" the other day. Of course, there is no number 9 that gets displayed. Edited August 30 by Grazza 1 Share this post Link to post
Clippy Posted September 23 (edited) Previously I beat 120 mines pretty easily but somehow 121 went off the rails and I might have gone a little insane 1 Share this post Link to post
vyruss Posted September 23 I am so happy to be alive in this time - never thought I'd see a minesweeper streamer! 2 Share this post Link to post
Sokoro Posted September 25 I remember it, yes. Why do you ask? Are you saying, that I am old? 3 Share this post Link to post
