[FULL MAP RELEASE] Map-01: Something About a Phobos Invasion?

I am happy to announce that I am releasing Map-01 of a Wad that I will upload soon.

 

- Info -

 

Map Name: Something About a Phobos Invasion

Tested Source Ports: GZDoom

Implemented Difficulties: HMP (UV and NM Coming Soon)

IWad: Doom2 Iwad

 

I made this map in about 3 or 4 hours total, and since it is just the first map to a full Wad, its pretty short, maybe taking a bit under 5 or 6 minutes on the short side, maybe 10 - 15 on the long side. The basic premise of the map, is a different take on E1M1, with a mix of some Hell in there. (But with Doom 2 IWad). The map has 2 possible endings, but both lead to the same next map (or at-least they will), one is just a bit harder to get to, and thus more rewarding feeling. The map has 1 key (Only the red key), and not too many enemies. Hope you guys enjoy!

Not a bad start. Unfortunately there isn't nearly enough ammo to deal with the number of monsters in the level. I like the idea of the two exits - very clever.

Thanks for the feedback! I actually wanted it to be a bit tough, so I didn't include much ammo.

 Good map!

I've played a few of your previous maps you're progressing quite well.

You're best room was the red key room, something about corner walls that open into the larger room has always appealed to me.

The other screenshot shows the teleported door with no door track texture and unpegged sides.

I know you're already aware, but the map doesn't have enough ammo to kill everything. I'd make that a priority when testing your maps as people (me) like to be able to 100% levels.

Other than nit-picky texture work, very well done.

Thank you! I was actually looking for YouTube looking for Doom mapping content for inspiration for other maps, and I found your video. I'll make sure to include a bit more ammo in later versions, and maps (However, Nightmare will not have any ammo, and all the enemies will be barons... Have fun :D)
