DEHACKED crashing my friends Zandronum server.

Im currently working on a deathmatch mod that contains a dehacked, I was testing the most recent build on my friends Zandronum server and for whatever reason the DEHACKED is causing his server to completely shut down. I think it happens when a player takes damage but Im not exactly sure so I could be very wrong, I know its the DEHACKED cause I made a version without the DEHACKED and it ran perfectly fine on my friends server. None of my friends have been able to detect what's causing the error so Im posting it here in hopes of the issue being found, here's the wad.

 

EDIT : I have completely overhauled the mod including getting a friend to help me with making a new DEHACKED and this problem is STILL persisting

If I'm reading that correctly then your Rocket has a speed of 4.5 million.

 

Doom projectile speeds are the same in vanilla as they are in GZDoom/Zandronum where speed stat is how far an actor moves per game tic.

A projectile mimicking a Hitscan speed only needs around a speed of 150, and even that might still be overkill.

WOAH! I could have sworn i made the rocket a speed of 50 through WHACKed4 but yeah I just checked and for whatever reason its 4.5 million. I changed it to 50 through slade and hopefully it shouldn't be crashing now, me and my friend are going to test this and I'll get back to this thread shortly to see if its fixed now.

Even after changing the absurdly high rocket speed the mod still causes server crashes.

There's nothing wrong with your DEHACKED lump, and I don't know why you thought it was to blame. Remember that projectile speeds are multiplied by 65536, so your projectile actually had a speed of "only" 70. This is still extremely high, and you may observe various problems with projectiles this fast, but crashing the game isn't one of them.

 

No, the reason your WAD crashes is simply that you forgot to convert your punch sprites (PUNG*), which are still in PNG format. Any port that can't use PNG sprites will crash when a player selects the fist (either manually or automatically when going berserk or running out of ammo).

pretty sure Zandronum supports PNG.

As before stated Zandronum supports PNG, and I never selected the fists during our gameplay, my friend did a few times but it never resulted in sever crashes, and when servers did crash he never had his fists out at that exact point. Also every time we have attempted to play with the DEHACKED we cant even play past 3 minutes without the server crashing, however when I removed the DEHACKED we were able to play 2 full matches with no issue, I do not think that is a coincidence.
