Custom Weapons

Recommended Posts

    1. Replacement graphics for the weapon frames and the projectile (or whatever the weapon is firing), and replacement sounds.
    2. An editor such as XWE, DeepSea, or WinTex to insert your graphics into a wad file.
    3. A DeHacked patch if you want your weapons to behave differently from regular DooM/2 weapons.

Download WinTex 5.0 here, and WhackEd, a Windows version of DeHackEd, here. Wintex is what I mostly use for weapon design, but DeHackEd is still good, too.
(BTW, WhackEd still saves files as .deh like the original)

Thanks, but one last thing that hasnt been cleared up- how is this coded. i mean how do you make the custom weapons behave differently? is there a tutorial that could teach me how to code my own weapons?

To change the way your weapons work you can either tinker with the DooM source code or do what countless others have done, and use DeHacked. Follow the link provided by insertwackynamehere#.
