fraggle Posted April 20, 2003 Hi all, I've been considering licensing for freedoom. So far licensing for freedoom has been kind of lax ("reuse anything provided that you give credit to the project"), we probably need some kind of proper licensing now that we've started doing proper releases. I'm proposing we use The Modified BSD License for freedoom. Basically this allows you to do anything you want with the freedoom material, provided the copyright notice is attached. This seems to embody the previous informal rules for freedoom: people can reuse any of the material they want, and the requirement of the attached copyright notice provides credit to the project. What do people think of this proposal? 0 Share this post Link to post

fraggle Posted April 21, 2003 Well, as nobody seems to have any objections, I've put the license at the root of the deutex tree: http://freedoom.sourceforge.net/deutex/COPYING I figure I should probably distribute wads in zips from now on, with the license, CREDITS file, etc. 0 Share this post Link to post
