Yugiboy85 Posted July 18 (edited) Hello All, I am proud to announce my mapset "Reconditus". This has been in the works for about 3 years, on and off (started in late 2021). It was previously released as a tech demo map under the title "techgrown". Story: You somehow end up in a mysterious place full of strange tech-overgrown architecture. Somehow, these buildings seem familliar but, you can't really grab your head around it. What is the meaning behind this mysterious world? Who is responsible? Is it all a dream? FIND OUT !!! (or not)What is included? Reconditus includes 4 new maps (+ 1 epilogue map) designed for boom at the very least (CL9). These maps feature a theme of temple like structures mixed with egyptian constructs and a lot of tech (even in the landscapes!). The maps are as follow: "Dream Dweller" by Me "In search of an Answer" by Me "Cerulean Cycles" by Me "Circuit Corruption" by @DMPhobos "Island of Stability" by Me (Epilogue map) - wont spoil that one The maps are fairly easy I suppose but, don't let your guard down. Some pretty nasty fights in phobos' map :D Music credits:Map 01: "Zwei", @esselfortium (with permission) Map 02: "Swept Away by the Tides of Time", @AD_79 (made specifically for this) Map 03: "Island of stability", AD_79 (made specifically for this) Map 04: "Enshrined", AD_79 Map 05 (epilogue): "Where time ceases to be", AD_79 Title music: "Moonstruck", @Jimmy² Intermission: "A goddamn rush", @Korp How did it come along? The idea came along one day as I was listening to an esselfortium track called "Temple". As I was listening to it, the theme came right into my head for some reason. I think it's a fitting theme for a track like that (that I can sadly not use for obvious reasons lol) and thought "you know what? Let's do it !" Where can I download this? Well, right here of course: RC1 RC2 This is an RC1, obviously, some stuff is not final (the titlepic for example is a placeholder) and, all skill settings aren't fully implemented yet. S3M_XM Posted July 19 I've finished just recently and they're wonderful maps to go through less than two hours. There's a softlock in MAP03 given in this screenshot if you fall behind the pillar which can be lowered and can't leave when it's raised back up. 2 Share this post Link to post

Bank Posted July 19 @Yugiboy85 Just finished playing through, really amazing set. Fantastic atmosphere and detail, MAP03's activation sequences in particular were a highlight for me. Secret hunting was very difficult but ultimately well telegraphed and satisfying, and the difficulty curve was great and definitively modern DOOM. TheShep Posted July 20 Well, I was steaming this tonight, then through a string of troubleshooting found out that my modem just died on the spot. Ethernet out port busted. anyway, had a good romp through maps 01 and 02. Modem keeled on Map03 so I’ll be redoing that one next. excellent colors, enemies, detail, just phenom. This was supposed to be longer initially but, i was burned out at some point and just wanted to finish what was in progress and get it out. Dont get me wrong though, i just took a break from doom for a bit and came back to this very recently to finish it up. fefor Posted July 20 Finished it yesterday, amazing job! played on HMP and it was a nice breeze that allowed me to appreciate the beautiful detailing and theme, enjoyed it a lot and will definitely be replaying this on UV while going for all secrets this time :) By the way on the third map these enemies are stuck with each other if you play on HMP Spoiler 1 Share this post Link to post

Yugiboy85 Posted July 25 RC2 Available: - A few gameplay tweaks on all maps - Map 3 has a sprussed up final fight - Some small visual changes here and there - The waterfall speed has been changed, it is now slightly slower :D RC3 will have all skill settings finalised (notably, map 4 is still absent in that aspect) and will pretty much be ready for idgames RC2 10 Share this post Link to post
plums Posted July 31 Great maps, played RC2 and just finished now! Very much your style of map design. No real complaints other than a part in MAP03 where I sent some cacos flying off into the distance (1st screenshot), and maybe you want some block monster lines on turrets to prevent being able to push enemies half-off. They are a little tiresome to finish off i found. Or, maybe alongside the revenant swarm after hiting the red power switch. Noted on the block lines, will see what i can do on map 4.
