I upgraded this 1987 Mac II with a 40mhz 68040 processor so that it can run BTSX at roughly 1 frame per second.

That's so cool!! And I realised you're the composer of MyHouse.wad! Good music! I'm a fan!!

A few years ago I pulled my childhood Atari out of my parents' basement and took it home and set it up (just needed a cheap, new adapter for modern TVs; and what else would I use the COAX port for on a TV, hehe).

I've had a couple of dozen games neatly in a box already, so I set out online to order cartridges of games I never had back in the day. (Scouring the internet and only ordering from legit game shops that specifically say "cleaned and tested".)

I used to use this Sylvania MP3 player a year or two before I got my first smartphone for my 13th birthday back in 2015:

Spoiler

It wasn't the ones that had Android in it, it seemed to have a different OS (that seemed to be shared among other MP3 players back in the 2000s and early 2010s) that was generally much more primitive and thus more nostalgic for me. I had another one that I can't find a picture of that had a Tetris clone on it(called 'Blocks' I think), but it was since broken.

Both of the ones I had even had AVI playback, though it required a converter that I never really used much. What I did use was the recording functions, much to the dismay of everyone else at the school I was in.

I no longer have this device, as I have moved to another state since.

My father VHS. He used to own a video rental store in the 90's and 2000's and the family house is still filled with walls of VHS and DVD movies from those days. He also loved to record stuff from the TV into vhs tapes, so he would maintain and repair the player whenever it needed it, and it still works just fine despite all the heavy use he gave it.

Got lots of old devices (such as old consoles, crt tv's, and even a pole position arcade machine stored somewhere), but this one comes to mind since it's still hooked up to a TV, with the proper HD adapters

Me too -- I've recently realized I love old/80s/90s tech because a lot of it was tactile: video game cartridges, cassette tapes, CDs, etc. =)

I had a CRT monitor back then and it had a green hue to it, I don’t know what happened to it.  I’m stuck with this DELL LCD.  I messed with the color settings to make it look like that CRT.  It made the red colors in game really stand out.

I'm sure it should be a 2nd Generation Sega console. I can't quite remember the original name.

Never owned these when they were new as I didn't exist yet, so they're second hand. Still love them to bits though (especially the SNES/GameCube).

The SNES unfortunately has an issue with its VRAM(?), so some sprites display incorrect colours in most games :(

I do also have an NES, but I don't have many games for it so I don't use it much.

Also the C64 in the second screenshot is the 2019 remake/replica, not the original! (Though I wish to get my hands on one one day)

Ok gentlemen, HUGE upgrade today. Alongside the Model M I posted earlier in the thread; I recently acquired a BRAND-NEW DELL M770! I bought it from Ebay where the seller had around 25 of these sitting in storage since 1999. Pretty cool to unbox something "new" like that.

I no longer have any old tech personally, but often get to have fun with it play with it for testing purposes at work :) This came in recently; an NTL-600 based Pong type game, basically a cheaper clone of the Binatone TV Master that my brother and I had as kids (I'm nearly 60). Incredibly, despite being nearly 50 years old, it didn't need recapping; only the potentiometer contacts had to be cleaned; and yes, it still works! The biggest problem was finding an analogue-capable TV to tune it to!console.png

The shipping must of been a lot for the monitor.  Nice setup, I want a old CRT monitor too.

Consul 232. Manufactured in 1968, Czechoslovakia. Needed a bit of compressed air and dilute vinegar to clean dust/webs and the rubber roller, and now it types nicely.

The caps lock key has its locking notch broken off but other than that it's a surprisingly very satisfying experience to type on.

Fun fact, there's no key for 1 or 0. You're supposed to use lowercase L, uppercase o. This machine has one but apparently, exclamation mark is on many machines assembled from apostrophe and period.

Tascam 122, made by TEAC in Japan in the early 1980's. a tank-like 3-head, no frills cassette recorder intended for professional/archival use.

mostly used it for recording to tape, and recording to WAV from tape. has dolby b and headroom extension, but i only ever use that for playback of things recorded with dolby noise reduction, often commercially released albums.
you can also record in double speed (9.5cm/sec) in addition to normal cassette speed (4.75cm/sec), unlike the later revisions, the 122 Mk whatever. but those gained a toggleable pitch control for speed adjustment. the later revisions lost the double speed recording/playback, but it is something they kept around in their multi-track portastudios, with many either forcing double speed or letting you switch between the two, often also with a pitch control (that is often not toggleable ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
it still plays things back fine, but i've been having mad trouble recording things with it lately, levels all over the place. might have to go into the used to use lot for a second as it's due for a recap and recalibration in its age. motor still seems to be fine and i think the belts are no more than a decade old. this happened last time i tried to use it to record, and i took that as a sign that i need to slam my face in that service manual and get some test tone cassettes.
