Phoenyx Posted August 5 (edited) Download or Listen to the Pack Here: YouTube: https://youtu.be/KIbaW4GmJn0 idgames: https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/music/cybermidi Bandcamp: https://phoenyx.bandcamp.com/album/cyberdreams-midi-pack Direct Download: cybermidi.zip MP3s: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1inq_Z96IDmK_8NomjdbRX5j0pM0f3FiO/view?usp=drive_link To know Cyberdreams is to love Cyberdreams. Developed and released back in 1998 by Albert 'Vrooomer' Valls and Gonzalo Perez de la Ossa, Cyberdreams is a fun and whimsical mapset full of puzzles and challenges primarily focused around our favourite rocket-shooting beastily bovine: the Cyberdemons. There is one thing that Cyberdreams has always lacked though, and that is an actual soundtrack. The WAD only uses the stock Doom II soundtrack and order and I thought it would be nice to gather fellow Cyberdreamers together and craft our own beautiful, whimsical soundtrack for this beautiful, whimsical mapset! In early June, I started up the Cyberdreams MIDI Pack project and over the past two months, myself and 21 other musicians, both experienced and brand new, have created some new MIDIs to accompany new or returning Cyberdreamers on their journey through this amazing mapset. We truly hope you enjoy everything that we have created here!Tracklist: TITLE: Eye of the Storm (Abridged) by @baja blast rd. I'm gonna aim to be better about that next time I lead a project like this! Thank you to Peccatum Mihzamiz again for the graphic at the top of this post! I love it and I hope others get a good chuckle out of it. And finally, thank you to Arsinikk for the extended CWILV graphics showing both the map name and the music credits on the intermission screen. It's something that I didn't even think to do so again, thank you for doing that! ^-^ There are also some notes and comments by some of the contributors in the text file. There may be more added when the pack goes to idgames! Thank you, Cyberdreamers! Enjoy the music <3 Edited September 23 by Phoenyx : Bandcamp link 80 Share this post Link to post
Peccatum Mihzamiz Posted August 5 In dark times I dream of Cybers. I dream of them and they dream of me. Now I hear these MIDIs whenever I close my eyes. And they hear me. Scream. 8 Share this post Link to post
Astar Posted August 5 It was an honor for me to take part in this project! 7 Share this post Link to post
stephyesterday Posted August 5 Easily one of the most deserving wads for a midipack, and this one turned out fantastic. Incredibly creative and fun tracks from everyone involved! 8 Share this post Link to post
Gothic Posted August 5 (edited) Looks like there's a good reason to replay Cyberdreams Edited August 5 by Gothic 7 Share this post Link to post
DuckReconMajor Posted August 5 My favorite wad getting a midi pack was not on my bingo card this year. Me participating in said project definitely was not. Many thanks to everyone who helped me out, and congratulations again on a well run project for a very deserving wad🥳 8 Share this post Link to post
Pancrasio Posted August 5 (edited) YES!!!! ABOUT TIME!! I've always thought of kick-starting this one day but I don't know anything about composing midis (nor any kind of music) and I'm not really interested in doing so; much more of a dream (lol) than a reality. So I'm greatful it got to happen. I love to see the cyberdreaming grow... Maybe we should make Cyberdreams 2, who knows. Contact me if that ever happens. For now, I'll be replaying this beautiful wad, now in its truest form... Edited August 5 by Pancrasio 4 Share this post Link to post
Yagacaw Posted August 5 what a great Midi collection, thanks for sharing! I love the track 'Turbulence Makes Me Feel Alive' @Cammy could i please use this track for an upcoming submission to the Knee Deep in the Dictionary community project? thank you! 4 Share this post Link to post
Bald Cyberdemon Posted August 5 That first intro midi by rd was exactly the kind of music I was expecting from Cyberdreams when I first heard about it Thanks y'all for making my cyberdreams into a cybereality 7 Share this post Link to post
Gregor Posted August 5 These MIDIs are magnificent and a true gift to the community. Beautiful... 5 Share this post Link to post
Plerb Posted August 5 (edited) Haven't listened to any of the midis yet but it's great to know this now exists! Cyberdreams was one of the first Doom PWADs I downloaded. I still haven't finished it though! I think I was on MAP24 or something last time I played it. I'll definitely load this up when I start playing it again. I was hoping that I would be able to contribute to the inevitable Cyberdreams midi pack, but oh well. Next time someone starts a private community midi pack like this, please reach out to me :P Edit: Glad to see some midis using the underutilized extra GS instrument banks! Next time someone starts a private community midi pack like this, please reach out to me :P I do wish I could have invited more people to join in on this. Slots filled up surprisingly quickly though and it being my first time leading something like this, at least on this scale, I was very anxious about reaching out to people and really only asked closer friends in the community whilst Pecca and Meowgi reached out to other people I was too afraid to ask. That being said, I do wish I would have known you were interested in doing this (obviously not your fault, more on me for not looking around enough) and I would have definitely reached out to you. I do hope to do another one of these, or at least something within the realm of a community MIDI pack again. Just don't know when and what I'd be doing it for. But if and when that happens, I'll shoot you a message ^-^ 4 Share this post Link to post

It's all good, I don't think I ever publicly mentioned that I was interested in joining a theoretical cyberdreams midi pack anyways. And I have horrendous social anxiety myself so I can relate. I look forward to whatever the next midi pack project is! 2 Share this post Link to post
Bloo Posted August 7 Glad I got to be a part of this. I hadn't heard of cyberdreams before this (plz don't burn me at the stake), but it was fun play through once I had. Thanks for hosting this! 3 Share this post Link to post

Shawn's Got the Shotgun is just too good and sometimes people need to be taught a lesson >:) (jk) It's all good! Was very happy and honoured to have you on board, especially as a fan of your work from previous community MIDI packs. ^-^ 1 Share this post Link to post
Phoenyx Posted August 9 Some quick fixes: - Fixed CWILV09 text (wrong formatting for MegaSphere's name, was "Megasphere" but has now been corrected to be MegaSphere) - Raised the volume of Astar's MIDI for Map 18 as it was significantly quieter than decino's and Naps' MIDIs in adjacent maps - Raised the volume of Fumingbow639067's MIDI for Map 21 so that it doesn't get too drowned out by the crushers. The pack has now been uploaded to idgames and I will update the link once it is on the archive. :D 2 Share this post Link to post

Thanks again for joining Cammy! Excellent work on your MIDI! ^-^ Yeah, I'm really proud of the smooth and fast development time for this pack. Started on the 5th June and released on the 5th August so exactly two months. If that's record time then honestly, I'd be really happy about that haha! :D 0 Share this post Link to post

Superjustinbros Posted September 1 This is a really nice set of MIDI's, fits the dreamy nature of the maps and helped give me an all-new appreciation to the Cyberdemons. 1 Share this post Link to post
khmoquin Posted September 1 What a rad project! Are there audio recordings of the pack? Does anyone know of any other ongoing projects like this? 1 Share this post Link to post
