libre-lettuce-pie Posted August 20 is there a reason each pixel is actually 3:3 pixels? 1 Share this post Link to post

Eevee Posted August 20 great news i did More Work (you may have to hard refresh or it might be fucked up) added the hacx and freedoom fonts added just a truly fucking ridiculous number of jimmy fonts rewrote my lump montager thing to require vastly less manual effort to add a new "bunch of lumps" font added a little info button next to each font so you know where it came from and that you technically shouldn't be using it (spoilers it's mostly id or jimmy) added support for "bunch of lumps" fonts in PK3s added support for "bunch of lumps" fonts where the lumps are PNGs "bunch of lumps" fonts now actually use the lumps' sprite offsets haha whoops!! the doom 2 palette was a bit fucked up but now it's not 9 Share this post Link to post

Gez Posted August 20 Nice to see most of the Realm667 font press is there! But a little bug report about Nought Point Four's lower-case y a pipe. Found that by clicking "Randomize" a few times. https://c.eev.ee/doom-text-generator/#text=but+you're+the+hope --+my+only+chance!!&font=doom-alpha&scale=3&kerning=0&line-spacing=0&padding=0&align=0.5&syntax=none&custom1a=%23000000&custom1c=%23ffffff&translation= 0 Share this post Link to post
Wavy Posted August 20 Spoiler Real talk though, this is an AMAZING and super useful tool 4 Share this post Link to post
NiGHTS108 Posted August 20 Or, in text... Spoiler This is totally radical and all, but one thing, it'd be cool if you would bring back the Doom font without the capitals in it. that was fairly convenient for helping format title patches though with the single "doom menu" option, I have to crop transparent space both below and above the text now. It's epic either way, just thought I'd note that though. 3 Share this post Link to post
PurplDanial Posted August 20 Jokes aside, great tool! i uesd a different tool before that required some tweaking, but this one is quick and easy, so im switching to this 0 Share this post Link to post

Really cool to see some of the new features such as new fonts, the ability to upload custom fonts, custom colours, and more! If I had one critique, it'd be that I wish there was an easy option or the ability to auto remove all blank space under the text. The main reason I say this is that I tend to cut the extra space off via SLADE or Photoshop, but I can always tell when anyone uses the tool in their WADs as there is always a bit of blank space after the text in their WADs (example: CWILV graphics). Technically you can do this manually via adjusting the "line spacing" option, but I doubt anyone's gonna remember to use that. It'd be cool if there was a way to just automatically remove the blank space. Line Spacing set to 4 makes near perfect CWILVs when sticking to the classic Doom font, as long as you stick to one line. I noticed that 'gap' early and eventually went across all my wads to clear that up with cropping. I dont know if it actually makes any difference, but its nice having them as polished as possible and matching id's own graphics 0 Share this post Link to post
Gez Posted August 20 Oh neat, there's little info boxes for each font. 1 Share this post Link to post
