Stargazer -a Doom II small slaughter map-

Hi, this map uses UDMF format, Doom II assets, OTEX_1.1.wad textures, plmsky1.wad texture for the sky, 80s pop music soundtrack made by Playsound (downloaded from Pixabay) and was tested with GZDoom 12.2.2. May not work with other ports.

Jumping and free look allowed.

Uses Doom II MAP01 slot.

No difficulty selection, i think it's "medium" difficulty. Depends on the person.

 

Kill, kill and reach the salvation.

Played it this morning.

Not sure it can qualify as a slaughtermap but it's a cool not difficult one (and said without being condescending, usual modern slaughtermaps are mostly out of my league).

I played UV and got it blind (plus, without jump so missing a megaarmor and a whole lot of ammo (had to finish the cybers with chaingun)).

Even though I think it's a really cool map as it is (really liked the atmosphere of the arena coupled with the midi), I may suggest to skip the forced use of jumping, give access to the megaarmor and the surrounding walk with ammos with little steps, and maybe add some monsters on UV... but it's just suggestion and, in the end, you're the boss of this map (and once again, it's a good one !).

What you achieved with this map could easily be reworked to require no jumping, thereby opening it up to potentially more players. (And really this could easily work without the ramp as well)

 

It's definitely not a slaughtermap really though, you'd need to at least double the monster count if that's what you were aiming for. However what is here plays really nicely, and killer music to boot!
