This to me looks about as graphically impressing as RTCW. The engine even looks the same, if not remarkably similar. Meh. I never like half-life anyway. Uninspiring weapons and gameplay that bored me to tears.

Hmm, interesting. Looks pretty good, but those shadows seem like they kinda suck. I'm worried about Doom III's gameplay comapred to Half-Life 2's, though. Those pictures that were scanned from the magazine in the Doom III picture section had parts of the articles as well, and what I saw distressed me. No use key, lack of secondary modes, apparently only re-vamped verisons of the guns . . . Distressing. Compared to what Half-Life 2 might have, there could be trouble. Hopefully that Doom III article is out of date and/or flat-out wrong.

Carmack is both id's main strenght and their main weakness. It's really kind of sad, because they could make the best fucking games in the world if they really wanted to.

iD was a far cooler company back in the day when they did Wolf3d and Doom, because I remember how damn new and fresh their gameplay seemed. Now they're just sticking to tried and true stuff, although there's one positive thing I can say about their style of gameplay: No fps developer knows how to make killing monsters feel sweet like id does - at least I haven't come across any other company that did.

Honestly, I find it really depressing how people begin to judge a good game by the fact that there are pretty girls in them.
Dammit, I don't give a shit about girls in a game, I just want to kill stuff and have fun in doing so - if I wanted to stare at girls, I'd just download some p0rn (videos or images) from the net.

But hey, we all have our tastes, I just hate to imagine that in about ten years time, games could be all about sexy females and lame killing.

Uh? Half Life 2 vs. Doom 3? Uhm, those pic show zero about changing facial expressions, but from what videos I've seen from both games, I'd say Half Life 2 owns in terms of facial expressions.

Why don't I care? /me looks at pic of doomguy again. Because the design (character, weapons and other stuff like armour) in Doom 3 owns Half Life 2 by a whole damn galaxy, that's why.
Oh and did I ever mention how much cooler it feels to play as a Marine compared to playing as a scientist?

Sure, the chick looks sexy in a sexy way, but doomguy looks badass. What do you think I prefer? Let's check my above comments about games and sex...ummmmmmmm....I'd say the badassedness wins.
