how do you tell?

Recommended Posts

when somebody new registers, how do you tell the difference between someone who will only post one time, someone who is a troll or spammer, and someone who is actually there to be serious? i'm just assuming there are ways to tell, 'cause if there are, i'm surprised there aren't more 'newbie genocides.'

People who usually make one post are usually asking a simple question like "How do I get Doom to run on XP?"

Spammers usually start an assload of threads or start posting at an insane rate

Serious people usually start posting in current threads with their views and usually construct them in the manner you would expect from somebody that has frequented many forums.

What I can't understand are those people who register, and then wait two weeks to make a single post that goes something like this:

...who then become regulars and get away with spamming anyway. :)

If you only knew how right you are.

If you think about it... it really hasn't moved much, ya know?

(It's probably in front of me but I can't see it.)

You can highlight the number of posts which lies inbetween your avatar and your registration date.

Try again. Where that place is between your avatar and your registration date, is your postcount, but it's invisible! Highlight it!
