999cop Posted May 10, 2003 "If you were a mutant..." heh, I just got to see the Xmen 1 movie today 0 Share this post Link to post
Ed Posted May 10, 2003 Apocalypse! Mr.Sinister, Cable and Juggernaut were always cool too.. Juggernaut was always more or less a lone wolf though. 0 Share this post Link to post
Disorder Posted May 10, 2003 I'm a lonewolf. I'd choose a particular side if it were good for me. If not, then I'll leave that side alone. 0 Share this post Link to post
DooMBoy Posted May 10, 2003 Heh, I'd probably be on Xavier's side I guess. I never really thought about it. 0 Share this post Link to post
NailGunner Posted May 10, 2003 Better than what side you would be on, but what would be your special power? As for me, I would want the ability to create money, so I can quit my job... 0 Share this post Link to post
Naked Snake Posted May 10, 2003 Loner, but I'd use my powers, not for good, not for evil, but for awesome!!! <3 STRONGBAD <3 0 Share this post Link to post
Janderson Posted May 10, 2003 Loner too, use my powers for the religeon of Skateboard Vert 0 Share this post Link to post

Alboroto Posted May 10, 2003 I'd be with Xavier, since he owns a private school, and girls in private schools are hot. PUNTO 0 Share this post Link to post
Fletcher` Posted May 10, 2003 with Xavier, because in teh comix, the good guys ALWAYS win in the end. :) 0 Share this post Link to post
IMJack Posted May 10, 2003 I'd run with Apokalypse, and get turned into one of the Horsemen. 0 Share this post Link to post

Anyway, I'd be with the X-Men, or Generation X. I actualy got really into Generation X for a while. I still have Issue #1 with a foil cover and the super special preview issue. 0 Share this post Link to post
fodders Posted May 14, 2003 A US lobby group calling itself Project Islamic H.O.P.E. has criticised the new X-Men movie as anti-Muslim. Their fury is directed at an alleged brief shot of the word "Allah" inscribed on a signet ring. X-Men 2 features a right-wing American administration hell-bent on limiting the rights of a "mutant" minority. Many commentators have seen the film as a sympathetic allegory for the treatment of Muslims and Arabs in the US since September 11. But Najee Ali, Project Islamic H.O.P.E.'s founder and a frequent critic of rap and "gangsta" culture, claims that he could see the word Allah written in Arabic script on the signet ring of the film's chief baddie, General William Stryker (Brian Cox). Stryker is a hardline right-winger working on "Final Solution" to what he sees as "the mutant problem". 0 Share this post Link to post
Ichor Posted May 14, 2003 Brian Cox has been the major villian in so many movies. Robocop and Total Recall come to mind right now, but there are at least a half dozen more. Of course, he was also the police chief in the Beverly Hills Cop movies. 0 Share this post Link to post
geekmarine Posted May 14, 2003 Er, it's a universal theme, I think. X-men has always been about how the mutants are oppressed and feared because of their powers and how different people see different solutions to the problem. Whatever, man, yeesh, I guess you can read into it whatever you want, but it has nothing to do with September 11th. The general ideas of X-men were put into place LONG before that ever happened. 0 Share this post Link to post

I wanna know what this guy was imbibing that he noticed an Arabic word on Stryker's ring during the second-and-a-half it was onscreen. It wasn't even the focus of the shot. Besides, Stryker struck me as a psycho-Christian or Illuminati type. 0 Share this post Link to post
Ichor Posted May 14, 2003 Oh, of course. How silly of me... I was thinking of Ronnie Cox. 0 Share this post Link to post
Dingus Khan Posted May 16, 2003 I would be on my own. The side of HATE. A vigilante. I would be like the Punisher, but with the healing powers of Wolverine. 0 Share this post Link to post

You need every/any excuse to post "provocative" points? 0 Share this post Link to post

I'd like to see if I can constantly play massive practical jokes on both the villains and heroes too. I'd probably run with Xavier's people once in a while, but leave arbitrarily and start annoying them again. 0 Share this post Link to post
