Scientist Posted May 22, 2003 More dutch people! soon we'll have enough to take over doomworld! :) welkom 0 Share this post Link to post
lowlandsrouter Posted May 22, 2003 I like open air scenery in doom. Those maps breathe atmosphere, which is great in the doom 1 & 2 Recently i was playing the E3 alpha of doom3 and i noticed the absolute lack of this very atmosphere i also detected in your maps (@scientist). Can we do something about this? I guess it's to late. I think id should have stick with the original doom 1 and 2 color schemes with state of the art engine and light scenes for doom3 and should have grabbed back to doom 1 and 2 editing, maybe refine it like the guys from deepsea are doin'. As i've stated in the editing zone, i think object oriented editing should be a nice add-on, but the basic vertice mode really should not have been left out. (please correct me if i'm wrong or haven't discovered this mode)(this would be one great wake-up call:) 0 Share this post Link to post

Thanks, I also like nice outdoor aeras. But it's just a matter of opinion; other doomers really like claustrofobic corridors. These add to the paranoia/fear-atmosphere (nowhere to run/nowhere to hide). 0 Share this post Link to post
