skin problem

i just made a skin using another skin as a base in wintex 4.2. i have it all done, but i want to rename it to something different than the skin i built it on. i tried saving the file, going into it with notepad and changing the name from there, but it caused zdoom to crash when it tried to load the skin. how do i rename it?

Uh, why dont you just change the sprite names in Wintex?

i must not have explained myself thouroughly enough. what i mean by the name of the skin, is how it appears on the player select screen (ya know. the default marine is "base"). changing the sprite names isn't gonna help anything. do you know what i mean now?
