Okay, this sort of has something to do with my porn incident. Since Doomworld has level downloads that take you to X-Rated wads. Wouldn't linking to Doomworld therefore result in linking to a site that promotes pornography? Just a question that I hope I don't get banned for asking...

The thing about porn Doom wads (at least the single one I tried a few years back) is/was that I don't/didn't want to kill the enemies for obvious reasons.

actually those x-rated wads aren't on doomworld's webspace, we meerly link to all avaliable levels on the ftp via the db archives (dw.com/idgames) which happens to include the x-rated maps

Uh, anyway the answer to your question has been mentioned. DW itself is not repsonsible for pages outside of it's control. No forums are, this is a pretty basic principle of the internet.

Besides, iirc there is plenty of warning at the download page itself, so I don't see the problem. If it seems like a contradiction to then not allow links to direct porn on the site, well I dunno, maybe it is. Too bad :)

Saying that http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/ has links to porn wads seems to me a bit like saying Google has links to porn images. Yes, it can be used to find porn, since it will search for things that you ask it to search for. I suppose the only question is whether the link to the x-r*ted folder (in the directory tree on that page) is generated dynamically by a search function, or if it was manually created.
