Cyb Posted June 13, 2003 Saw in the forums (via this thread) that the Community Chest Project, headed up by Cadman of TeamTNT, has been completed:I would like to thank the entire Doom Community for all their support. This project actually started out as a fluke, I thought about the possibility of doing something like this and actually completing something for the community instead of all the vaporware projects that are out there! Everyone that has been involved with this project I want to thank you for all the hard work you have put into it, thanks so much! This is your project and you made it happen! I just kind of pushed it along...:)The significance is pretty cool, since we all know that it's rather tough to get multiple-author projects finished. However, it's not been mirrored yet, but be on the lookout for it in /newstuff (or one of its mirrors). Until then if you want to try gamers.org you can. And while I'm excess linking here, you may as well check out the Community Chest thread which has 1100+ posts (that's a lot). Oh yeah, and here's the page. 0 Share this post Link to post
The Ultimate DooMer Posted June 13, 2003 Cheater. It shouldn't count when the one who posted the thread gets fp as well. So: fp! props to all logged in trolls! Edit: Damn you Fredrik!!!! 0 Share this post Link to post

If you really want to win the fp race, you should post a simple "fp" message as soon as the thread appears, and then edit the rest (props, etc.) in later. Anyway, it looks like a great wad. Every map I've looked at so far is a winner. 0 Share this post Link to post
Julian Posted June 14, 2003 The status bar owns. Any chance it could get donated to freedoom? 0 Share this post Link to post
Epyo Posted June 14, 2003 Ok, I'm finally gonna stop working and start playing! Is this hard or easy on UV? Cause I don't wanna get halfway on UV and have to quit. 0 Share this post Link to post

I am up to map13 on UV and it has been kind of easy so far, some maps are faily hard (including the first map), but most are kind of easy. Looked at map29 though, it looks scary. 0 Share this post Link to post
Epyo Posted June 14, 2003 Well I'll probably get bored by map07 or so, so I'll just give it a go on UV. 0 Share this post Link to post
Sphagne Posted June 14, 2003 Hey, Merovingian, cant you see traces of Duke in status bar? If you can ignore that, then by all means go ahead and use it with FreeDoom. 0 Share this post Link to post
mewse Posted June 14, 2003 congratulations guys, this is nice to hear :) 0 Share this post Link to post
Amaster Posted June 14, 2003 Im on map07 now. It's been great so far. The flood of cacos on map06 was a little insane for those of us who dont play cautiously. 0 Share this post Link to post
Murdoch Posted June 14, 2003 Looking good so far guys. Congrats to whoever did MAP29. The opening scene is spectacular. 0 Share this post Link to post

NightmareZer0 Posted June 14, 2003 i just beat map 29. (skipped to it) using god mode unlimited ammo and all weapons. took me a hour even while cheating. (well i rocketed jumped to ledge with keys beacause im sleepy and want go to bed) 0 Share this post Link to post
netnomad312 Posted June 14, 2003 I've only beaten two levels so far, both very cool. Level one was good because it was... different. I don't usually like using the pistol, but that level made it kinda fun. The second one was a VERY good police station, I have to say. I actually found the "one-way screen" rooms kinda funny. 0 Share this post Link to post
Colusio Posted June 14, 2003 Played a while in lvl 12 and that's indeed very nice. Was a bit disappointed that you got the berserk and chainsaw in the first level. Was like a change from first to fourth gear, however opposition was adjusted after that. Tricky for a first level. bold=edit 0 Share this post Link to post

Sporku Posted June 14, 2003 Wasn't that status bar in the SPZDoom2 resource wad? 0 Share this post Link to post
Sphagne Posted June 14, 2003 No, I made it quite recently compaired to SPZDoom2.wad, but the theme is quite similar to some textures there, so you may remember something. 0 Share this post Link to post
Sphagne Posted June 14, 2003 Hey, maybe you meant sp-sin1.wad my Sin weapon pack, hmm? It was included there. 0 Share this post Link to post
SyntherAugustus Posted June 14, 2003 Sweet. Cant wait to download. I remember being the formor webmaster for it. Now to actually play the levels. 0 Share this post Link to post
netnomad312 Posted June 16, 2003 Just played a few more levels. Levels 3, 4, and 5 were just fine. I did not like level 6, though. Besides the nice use of that bridge trick, most everything about it sucked. Half of what "puzzles" the level has to offer have you pressing the identical COMPBLUE walls for teleports. Other "wonderful" things in this level include having to walk through a gate at a certain point (as if somehow you're supposed to conviniently know where the passable part is - just like those teleports), way too many monsters for what you're given, and IMO, horrible monster placement (if you're going to have 29 cacodemons, at least spread them around the level...). 0 Share this post Link to post
