Difficulty levels during deathmatch?

I was wondering if the different levels had the same effect on you in DM as in single player? do you recieve more damage from shots on higher difficulty or is it the same in all the differnt settings?

so against bots putting it on the easiest setting would make them harder?

Not with Legacy. Bots are quite easy on skill1, but pretty damn tough on nightmare.
