Yeah, need some help with my site

Can someone tell me how to make it so that on My site that background picture changes between 8 diff pics randomly? I'm using an HTML editor on Tripod for it. I'd appreciate if someone would help me. My site so far is alot of text and crap, and I want to do some stuff to make it more exciting :P

Oh, and IIRC, using standard HTML, you can't. Feel free to prove me wrong though.

There are lots of sites that offer up scripts for the taking. Those are always good places to start, and failing that you can always read JavaScript for Dummies. :D
