How many spam e-mails do you get per day?

For me, it was never such a big problem, but then it just exploded in early 2003, and I now get dozens each day.

Normally not that many, but yesterday I got well over 100 . They were nearly all from people infected with the Worm/Sobig.F virus.

Most I ever had at one time was 10. On average, I get about 3 every few days to about a week.

I never had much trouble, but recently I get plenty of emails with misspelled words. Like this one from my good pal "Sneh Jirik" : "tzn fit into yourr oold cclloothes iq"

I have 4 email addresses, and only one gets any kind of spam, and even then it only gets around five a week (never opened, immediately deleted).

I check my e-mail more like once a week than once a day, unless I'm expecting something in it, so I couldn't really answer that question accurately. I have a Yahoo account anyway, so nearly all the spam immediately goes into that super-nifty "Bulk" folder whereupon I just click "Empty" next to it, and it all goes bye-bye. Really nice feature.

I received nearly 100 on my DW account yesterday morning. Normally I recieve only 10-20 per day.

I used to get about 10-20 per day on my old DC account as well. Their spam filter caught them all though. Doomworld has something called "SpamAssassin" which does a remarkable job of putting a *******SPAM******** header in every spam email coming to my address, AND THEN SENDING IT TO ME ANYWAY.

On my OOL mailbox: less than 3 a month (I use SAProxy)
On my Yahoo mailbox: 2-5 a month
On my Hotmail box: None, I have junkmail filter on exclusive

I have a private e-mail account so I usually get one spam e-mail a week. Although that number has increased slightly recently for some reason.

I remember back in the aol days, email was useless to me, I was getting around 6000-8000 a DAY.

unfortunately, that is the downside of having a public email address.
I post my email everywhere.
I get about 20-30 a day now.
My wife is a writer, she submitted her email to a bunch of places to get her work submitted. oh man, she gets about 100 a day. Her inbox is always full. I created a new account for her, now she gets 0.

You too huh? I have no fucking clue where those are coming from.

But besides those recent anomolays, I haven't had any spam mail in 2 years. You just need to know how to keep it out. :P

I had an AOL account and I got as much spam as indicated above. The trick is not to go into AOL chat rooms, 'casue then porn spammers and IMers will get to you.

I didn't even bother opening them. I figured they were either virii, some kind of things to get you on a permanant list, or letters from Al-Qaida. :P

I just deleted everything in my Bulk Folder and Inbox, yay :) Now I have 100% free space - imagine that.

My EmulationZone address only gets 2-3 a day on average. My older Yahoo address gets tons. I don't use that e-mail address anymore so I let it fill up.

I get those a lot myself. I think they're to trick the spam filters. that's why you get emails saying "inlarge youre penissssssss now". I havent gotten any spam at all because of my email adress being 36 characters long and consisting of only I's and L's.

*Correction. I used to get those emails on old accounts.

I think the most Spam I ever got was about 11 in one day, but usually it's around 1 Spam Email every 2 days.

You have no idea...

Apparently there's only about 100 or 2 spammers out there doing this e-mail stuff. Whether or not i can take my computing teacher's word for it is uncertain.

Like i've said on one or two occasions. If i don't recognise the sender or the mail title i just delete it. Recently i've noticed the mails have become a bit sneaky and they've played around with the mail titles
(eg: where have you been?). When i come to these circumstances i bet on the outcome "penis enlargement or viagra" before deleting.

Never. When I used hotmail, i'd get about 25 a day. Now that I use mail.com, I never get any.
