NiGHTMARE Posted September 22, 2003 It's funny how several newstuff reviewers are willing to dole out a huge amount of criticism, yet can't hack it when they themselves become subjects of criticism... 0 Share this post Link to post
Szymanski Posted September 22, 2003 I definately appreciate reviews of old maps, there's probably a lot of good maps I've missed out on. 0 Share this post Link to post
Torn Posted September 22, 2003 I still wonder if he only had one map to do, why it first get uploaded so late, ultimate doomer always have them so you can read them satureday night/sunday morning. But the weeks deathz0r reviews, it is like monday morning or later. and btw about this: I personally like to thank you all for providing me with such a quality /newstuff this week. Why don't you review the other 3-4maps?. I don't get that. 0 Share this post Link to post

It could be a timezone issue - I'm 5-7 hours ahead of most of you, so I always have to upload it before I go to bed, which is somewhere in the evening over there. While deathz0r, being about 15-17 hours ahead, can either put it up very early (missing all the wads uploaded Friday/Saturday) or (more likely) put it back a day, meaning it gets uploaded in the middle of Saturday night/Sunday morning US time. btw, I think he means review it ourselves, by posting about the other maps. (which is, like, the whole point of this thread) 0 Share this post Link to post

Moonflower Posted September 22, 2003 Just out of interest, what happens if nobody submits any WADs to /newstuff one week? Is the whole thing skipped or does the set reviewer just post a "yarrr, I be holdin' no treasure in me box t'day" kind of post... or does Doomworld's backend processes suffer an internal breakdown and form an embolism at some completely random point in the timespace continuum? 0 Share this post Link to post
NiGHTMARE Posted September 22, 2003 I don't think it's ever happened... so far... :) 0 Share this post Link to post
sargebaldy Posted September 22, 2003 if nothing gets released than doomworld propogandists make maps with an advanced copy of slige with a name generated randomly by ling's random name generator. the author name is of course listed as 'doomboy'. 0 Share this post Link to post

Hmm, there's only 3 of us, 2 of whom generally don't get criticism...not several really. (unless you count the people who've done a guest slot before now) sargebaldy said:if nothing gets released than doomworld propogandists make maps with an advanced copy of slige with a name generated randomly by ling's random name generator. the author name is of course listed as 'doomboy'. Not forgetting the missions generated randomly by boris' random mission generator. Scragadelic said:Just out of interest, what happens if nobody submits any WADs to /newstuff one week? It's never happened, but if it does (or looks like it's going to) then I think we should arrange a special speedmapping session in the newstuff forum a day or two beforehand. Yes, I think that will work (as some of the staff can see that forum as well as us reviewers, so we should get some maps at least) 0 Share this post Link to post
