Why is the lost soul head on a spider's body

And why is it upside down? Are they going to replace the lost soul model? The concept art looked awsome, but when they finally made the model, it looked like shit.

The spideresque Trite is a seperate enemy, has nothing to with the Lost Soul (except maybe the story background, who knows). Also the Lost Soul model doesn´t look like shit. It sure looks a bit blocky on the edges, but if you could see it in motion it would look much better.

Maybe when you shoot down a lost soul, they sprout legs and chase you. Maybe...

Whatever they are, they're gonna be pretty damn freaky when you first meet them in game.

I don't understand why so many folks think the trite head is the lost soul head - it's vastly different when you look at the details, because the lost soul has pointy, misshapen teeth while the Trite has normal, square-shaped teeth. Also the Trite is a non-cybronic creature.
I mean wtf? Just because both heads are bald and with black eyeballs without irises?
