I've got the yellow key. I've gone to the throne room, raised the yellow barrier, and thrown the switch. Nothing seemed to have happened. Where do I go from here?

Go back to the start, you should find a teleporter lowered.

You're lucky, the yellow key is missing in my version of Final Doom.
