Bloodshedder Posted December 6, 2003 I've been notified that Doom3.com has been updated with screenshots, desktop images, and a video trailer for the next upcoming installment in the Doom series. It seems that there is at least one new screenshot, and the trailer is merely the previously released E3 video, except with a male narrator. You can even pre-order the game, if you feel so inclined. And remember folks, this game is not yet rated. 0 Share this post Link to post
Naked Snake Posted December 6, 2003 Also, at the end of the trailer, it shows the Hell Knight roaring instead of the Revenant. 0 Share this post Link to post
Manc Posted December 6, 2003 I can tell you have a hard time seeming enthusiastic. But since someone can't take a joke, I'll comment further. I liked the screenshots, but what about hell screenshots? I know I'm not the only one who'd like to see at least one. 0 Share this post Link to post
Amaster Posted December 6, 2003 I'd love to see one, just one, hell screenshot. 0 Share this post Link to post
Scuba Steve Posted December 6, 2003 But won't Hell be that much more exciting to see since all you have to go on are your own thoughts? My god, I might be on to something... 0 Share this post Link to post

This is what the whole game will be building up to, like first encountering the alien world Xen in Half-Life. It should be up to the imagination before actually getting there for a better experience. 0 Share this post Link to post
Jello Posted December 6, 2003 Okay, maybe this has been brought up before, but what's with that weird baby/insect thing a little over 3/4s of the way through the e3 video? It's right before he starts shooting at the jumping spiders. I've never seen this thing before, looks creepy as hell. 0 Share this post Link to post

Ichor Posted December 6, 2003 It looks like they're about to do the ol' head-in-the-lion trick. 0 Share this post Link to post
deathbringer Posted December 6, 2003 The game certianly isnt coming out on doom's 10th, but maybe they will release something else on the day, like a new video or something, or maybe even a demo (which could be the same as the leaked alpha, so for the people that have played the alpha theres nothing new in it, except a message at the start that says "ID ownz teh haxors") 0 Share this post Link to post
geekmarine Posted December 6, 2003 Oh hey, yeah, that trailer does kick ass. I'm still curious, though, WTF is throwing that one guy around? I'm sure this has already been discussed, but there's a guy halfway through the video who is pulled up by his leg and slammed into a door by apparently nothing. Really weird and creepy... This is what I get for not paying more attention to the Doom 3 forums. Oh, and if they did release the demo and if it were the same as the alpha, I would hope they would have cleaned it up. I honestly wouldn't be too upset if it were a nicely done version of the alpha - at least it'd be something to play (the alpha is too crap to play on a regular basis). 0 Share this post Link to post

Also notice when he shoots the zombie something translucent moves past the corpse 0 Share this post Link to post

Remilia Scarlet Posted December 6, 2003 I actually saw empty Doom3 boxes at EB games yesterday when I went to the mall with Annie. The boxes are actually pretty cool, and resemble the site. They have two styles: a smaller one that's rather common today, and a larger one that comes with a figurine. I'm glad I upgraded my computer, now. 0 Share this post Link to post

It would be too good to be true. The alpha is just a techdemo, though. I want a fully working, playable level. 0 Share this post Link to post
sniperfrommars1 Posted December 7, 2003 I think its about time. The textures look alot better now than they do in the alpha. And the video seems smoother and final game concpet basically done. IF they are finished with all this video cgi crap the game is in the debugging stage and ready to ship. Thats my opinion. Im just tired of all the guys gettin poed cause they wanna play the frickin thing already 0 Share this post Link to post
Vegeta Posted December 7, 2003 How can I do to save the trailer in my hard drive, w/o holding it in the temporary internet files folder? 0 Share this post Link to post
deathbringer Posted December 7, 2003 Vegeta said:How can I do to save the trailer in my hard drive, w/o holding it in the temporary internet files folder? Heh, such things are not allowed, now that everyone (except for those that dont, like most people) has broadband and so they can download it every time they want to watch it, and websites never ever go down anymore... 0 Share this post Link to post
