Mogul Posted December 21, 2003 This is perhaps the most uneducated thing I've ever posted. I'm embarrassed to ask - but, there ARE deathmatch levels on Doom II, right? I thought I "knew" this years ago, but I have no idea at all how to load them up in any source port, or especially Doom 95. What's the deal with the D2DM maps? 0 Share this post Link to post
Kristian Ronge Posted December 21, 2003 To further elaborate: There are no maps in iD's DooM 2 that were made *specifically* for DM (although some people claim maps 1 and 7 are really DM maps that were just made to fit SP as an excuse to include them in DooM 2...) ;-) so some of them might not be suitable at all for it. Some play so-so (map 3, map 11...), but most are not very good for DM play. 0 Share this post Link to post
EarthQuake Posted December 21, 2003 I don't see map01 as being an intentional DM map... It's got too many things that are significant in singleplayer only. Map07 on the other hand... 0 Share this post Link to post
Mogul Posted December 22, 2003 Wait... I thought there were levels SPECIFICALLY for deathmatch somewhere in that WAD... Levels called D2DM1, D2DM2, etc... Some of them appear to be modified versions of the single player versions... Does this make sense or did I somehow dream this up? 0 Share this post Link to post
Bloodshedder Posted December 22, 2003 No, in regular Doom 2, there aren't. However, Skull Tag is a DM modification that uses those very same map names. 0 Share this post Link to post
