CastleVania Doom???

Has anyone ever attempted to do a castlevania tc for Doom?
Maybe like symphony of the night for the ps1?
If not does anyone think its possible to do what the *Good* Castlevania games have to offer,as in cant go their till u get this.
Of course it would require Zdoom to do a hub,Since Lament of Innonence for the ps2 has a hub itself for five diffrent levels,the end level,and the door to the secret boss.
Just wondering if anyone else was wondering about this b4.

ShadowRunner, before you start asking for help on your new mega-cool-and-whatnot project, make sure you have something to show first (screenshots, map downloads, etc). Keep in mind we've already seen thousands of upcoming projects that actually never got done.

Then again, there's the fact that at LEAST the first five Castlevania games were all level-sequential, some of them with forks where you could go by one route or another.

Deathman , before you try to act all mega-cool and what not with the /newproject tag, look at his post, it isn't asking for help, he's just wondering if his idea is a good one.

Man Doomboy you always spot everything.
But about the whole castlevania thing,in Zdoom is their a way to allow a bridge to fall brick by brick or platform by platform?
If so that could illeminate any areas that couldnt be done.

It can be done in vanilla Doom as far as I know, but the drawback is it won't be a bridge you can walk over and under, only over.

True.But the only people who could work on it are people who own a Copy Of Symphony of the night for the playstation(sorry saturn fans).if thats the case after tods done i might just think about working on this,as its a new idea and can easily make the monsters from the game,as ive found sprite rips allready.

Yeah, what about castlevania 1-3 on the nes. And castlevania 4 and (5?) on snes.

Of those I only own castlevania 3 to the nes. Great game. :)

I wanted to start such a project once. It would have been a Hexen TC, as I wanted to have various player characters :)

You know what.Hexen is better off for castlevania.ZdoomHexen of course.
Reason being.
1.Fighter Replaced With Alucard(Main char of Sotn)
2.Cleric Replace with Richter(Secret char after sotn is beaten)
3.Mage Replaced with Leon(Main char of Lament of innoncence)
the Fighter and cleric take u to Sotn.
Where as the Mages path takes u to Lament of innoncence.Kind like quake.

This would be the first hexen project ever wouldnt it?

Heh.It would be very hard to:
1.Rip sprites from Sotn(Emulator Needed)
2.How to Divide up the weapons(Alucard would need At least the Holy Sword,Alucard Sword,Short Sword,and Moon Rod.)
3.Richter however(Whip Of Belmonts,Whip of Flames,Whip of Frost,Whip of Lightning).
4.Leon's weapons(Whip of Alchemy,Vampire Killer(Updated version of Whip of alchemy,Whip of flames,whip of frost,whip of lightning) would have to be droppe down to 4.
5.Accesorys arent a problem.
5a.Alucard as follows would need:(Dragon Helm,Necklace of J,Twlight cloak,Alucard Sheild,Alucard Mail,etc)
5b.Ricther However is unknown.
5c.Leon Would need made up stuff since he can only have 2(3 if u get the toolbag) accesorys, and a armor slot besides the weapon slot.
6.Textures however will take a while to be made by the games.
7.The Jump Feature will come in tact alot if i were to make this.
8.Relics or items would give ur jump features special abilities like a higher jump to reanact double jump(Alucard Only).
9.A Loading screen would appear every time u go from door to door.
10.To Reanact the Relic u need to open Blue Doors(it has blue flames around it) Would be very easy to reenact since it would be the only keycard u would need.

Anyone who has the game(s) would know this and could even help me out on what im forgetting.

You'd be more likely to succed if you mere;y based it on the Castlevania environments and general items rather than trying to mirror any one particular game. You'll have a lot more creative freedom. And you can more easily avoid things that coulnt be implemented properly.

Make a fast, short-lived, invisible projectile with the ripper bit set, and make sure to supply proper HUD graphics and skins. Would only work in ZDoom though.

This is kindof what I was thinking... only you wouldn't need Zdoom, because you don't need the ripper.

You can apply the (bits2) flags to any object in Legacy also.
