Where do i download new weapons?

i appoligise for the ridiculous nature of this question, and i'm sure there is a very simple answer, i have tried searching the forum, but perhaps i just dont know how to phrase the search. anyways, where do i get alternative weapons for doom? i have read many threads about flame throwers and chainsaw launchers ect. but i saw no links. all help would be appreciated.

How do you use more than 1 custom weapon in the game at a time, or start with it?

sry guys, im a n00b to doom (not really i played it when i was a youngster) and ive frogeten everything about it, im just wanting to start with some of the guns ive downloaded.
