CtrlAltDestroy Posted February 18, 2004 I'm in need of a utility that can extract MUS entries from a wad into MID files, and back again. I tried MUS2MID a long time ago, but the mid files are unplayable unless they're first opened with a MIDI editing program. Anything easier? 0 Share this post Link to post
Ichor Posted February 18, 2004 WinTex can do that easily, although you'll still need midi2mus. 0 Share this post Link to post

Negatronica Posted February 19, 2004 No. Wintex exports .MID, but needs .MUS for importing. If you want an actual MIDI editor you can try Smidi.exe. Its a Windows based program thats about 1,400KB unzipped. Its not as advanced as Cakewalk and its buggy, but its also free. I'm using that along with Wintex and midi2mus.exe for my megawad. 0 Share this post Link to post

WinTex will let you select a MID file for music importing, but will attempt to call Midi2Mus to convert it first, so you will need that program, like Ichor had said. The MUS2MIDI is incorporated in WinTex itself, though, so I don't really know why didn't they implement MIDI2MUS at the same time. Oh, well. 0 Share this post Link to post
