Monitor message "out of range"

Recommended Posts

When I try to run ZDoom on my win2k machine, my monitor displays this message that says "out of range". Anybody know why? It is the same 'style' message as if I turned my monitor on without plugging it in and it would say "no input" I think it might be a hardware problem. I can't find ANYTHING about this in FAQs. Any love would be greatly appreciated. ( I know I already posted this in the Ports forum, but I wasn't sure which was a better match)

I've had this problem with Eternity I think it was. Not sure what it is exactly, but try edit your zdoom config file and change the resolution there to something else than it currently is.

try typing

zdoom -width xxx -height yyy

from the command prompt where xxx and yyy are the appropriate resolution (eg 640 and 480). It depends what your monitor supports. When I've run a new version of zdoom it always starts at the lowest resolution it can.
