The first day I became a porn star, I did roughly the same thing.
Moderation is a good idea.
actually, to be serious, if you have trouble getting a maxdemo on the first two tries, then you need to do some more planning and practice on the map. (that is my experience anyway)
Knowing what to do when, and how to keep the level at the player's advantage is important.
But, I know you know that already because I've seen your demos. also, coming back to the map the next day can help... leave it alone for awhile. :)

i had another go, just did a 3:44 first exit. this time i managed to leave a few spideys and knights to fight amongst themselves just still lost a lot of time herding towards the end, havd 6 rockets spare though so i could have sped things up there, ho hum

You should have seen the time I repeatedly slammed myself diagonally into the outside wall of the local NatWest. The money never did magically appear in my hands though. :(

And watch out for those sudden speed boosts while running against walls, you can get dragged for half a mile if you lose your footing.

Also be aware that if you go to the grocery store and see a certain item or items is out of stock, it's NOT a good idea to stand beside the shelf where the item(s) would normally be, waiting for it (them) to respawn.

Heh, seconded. There were many times when I was recording some demo for a few hours and didn't even get close to what I wanted to achieve. Then, I go for a smoke or postpone recording to the next day, and BAH, I do it in just a few tries.

Hahahaha! After playing Hell Revealed on UV for a long time non-stop I started strafing along walls a bit.

You realize of course that if you use a rocket jump in your local grocery store you DO NOT respawn right? ;)
