Fredrik Posted April 21, 2004 That makes no sense. First, there are lots of game developers that don't compete with id Software, they can do whatever they want. They do that already. Second, the arms race won't end because one competitor quits. Third, times between engine releases are getting longer already. Five years since Q3A, plenty of time for the designers at id to innovate. 0 Share this post Link to post

EsH Posted May 14, 2004 gamespot.com has some hi(-er) res screenshots of the UnrealEngine3. Also check out http://www.unrealtechnology.com/html/technology/ue30.shtml for even higher res stuff. Really, really curious to see how Carmack is going to leap-frog this one ;) 0 Share this post Link to post
DaniJ Posted June 2, 2004 Those new pics are beyond amazing. The quality of those environments are breathtaking. Those are some VERY well made monsters too. 0 Share this post Link to post
Sporku Posted June 7, 2004 Yes, those screenshots are pretty nice looking, but the question at hand is: What the hell does this have to do with Doom 3 at all? 0 Share this post Link to post
