Hellbent Posted April 3, 2004 I'm looking for a not too powerful, easy to use and smart graphics program to do some light editing of images for the making of doom textures. Does anyone know any good ones that are FREE or have really leniant trial periods? Nothing too fancy, no Photoshops or the like. Some features it needs to have: The ability to adjust image size keeping aspect ratio in mind (and the option to turn off aspect ration keepage) some effects options. invert, flip and all those simple things. color, hue, brightness adjuster. easy to crop and cut and paste. A color replacment tool would be nice. "freeform" cutting tool (not just a square cutter) and whatever other good tools people can think to suggest. 0 Share this post Link to post
BlackFyre Posted April 4, 2004 Try the TBYB version Paint Shop Pro 8, from JASC software. It's a good sized download, but well worth it. 0 Share this post Link to post

Optiks Posted April 4, 2004 If you want a good free image editing program, you want the Gimp. http://www.gimp.org/ If you want something that is more specifically for textures, you want Wally. http://www.telefragged.com/wally/ These programs are both freeware and between the two, I can't really think of anything else you might need. 0 Share this post Link to post

Hellbent Posted April 4, 2004 Under the Wizard menu in Wally there are two types of wads... Half-Life and Quake1 - why not doom? 0 Share this post Link to post
