surge Posted April 22, 2004 Is there an example of custom player classes in doom that get certain attributes? ie you join a game, and have to select a class to continue into the play arena w/ your specific class attributes will this work for players too? http://zdoom.org/wiki/wiki.phtml?title=Creating_new_monsters_and_other_complex_actors tia 0 Share this post Link to post
Ichor Posted April 22, 2004 Hexen, although I wouldn't be surprised if this was somehow done for Doom as well. 0 Share this post Link to post

If you really need an altered player animation or property Dehacked is still the only way to do it. There isn't much that can be done in an external definition lump anyway. If you require some special player behavior it had to be coded into the engine. 0 Share this post Link to post
The Ultimate DooMer Posted April 22, 2004 You could simulate player classes through scripting, but it would be complex to set up and limited in it's usage. 0 Share this post Link to post

I'm looking for armor/health,weapons, and possibly player speed attributes wiki's page didnt have the DoomPlayer linked (http://zdoom.org/wiki/wiki.phtml?title=Classes), is there a reference of functions and attributes one can change? Here is what i found in his helpful site, and this look like possibly enough...but I'm greedy and wondered if there is more to be had :) http://zdoom.org/wiki/wiki.phtml?title=SetPlayerProperty http://zdoom.org/wiki/wiki.phtml?title=Built-in_ACS_functions#Player_inventory http://zdoom.org/wiki/wiki.phtml?title=Built-in_ACS_functions#Actor_control 0 Share this post Link to post
