i saw this idea in the SOG message board early last year, and i enjoyed it. what you do is everyone who wants to do it has to post around one to four sentences. i'll start it off...

Sometimes you wish you'd be dead then bored. Working at the Phobos Military Base can really be boring crap. Standing outside a warehouse for at least 10 hours is a job that no-one wants to do. But hey, at least you get some money out of it.

You walk down the hallway, checking import and export lists, making sure that the minerals are getting to earth and the that we are getting our supplies. You see something that catches your eye. A psynomic amplification rod. Hmm...what the hell are one of those things doing here? They are for expiriments for molecules, not mining.

You decide to check one of the manifests for one of the incoming crates of supplies. Butch has already checked it off, and, knowing his warped sense of humor, you know you have to see what he's marked it as having. In bold writing, he's marked this crate as holding six large mimes.

"Very funny, Butch," you think sarcastically, as you open the crate to inspect its contents. That's odd, more aplification rods??? Did Butch even check these crates? Now you're getting suspicious.

"What the hell?" You say aloud. The only reason these things exist is for teleportation expirments...Hmm...You check off the manifest. You look around. Another box. Open it up. Galvux Positronator. Now this is getting whack! What the hell? Why do they need this shit when this is just for mining minerals?

The crate inspection is getting old, especially with all the mislabeled crates. Heading to the back of the storage area, you see one extremely large crate. This one still has its original manifest... "parts for one (1) spider mastermind". What the fuck...

You decide to observe the crate. You notice that there are legs, a chaingun weapon, and a brain. WHAT THE FUCK?!?!? A brain? What in the world is something like that doing in a crate?

And, more to the point, why the fuck is anyone ordering the parts for one of these motherfuckers?

This stinks bad. Real bad. This smells like a re-enactment of the War.

Well, you think, it IS a military base after all, and this is certainly some top-secret shit that you are not even supposed to know about. Fuck 'em with their secrecy. Whom are they gonna attack, anyway? There were no wars for thirty years.

Then you notice the bullet holes on the monster. They didnt make this, they killed it. What the fuck!? You unholster the SA .38 they gave you and look around. You look at your watch. 11:00 PM ET (Earth Time). Usually this is when its most busy. No one. From the dark you hear a hiss. You point the gun. Bet the broken pipe shit itself. You inspect the pipe only to find....

..that a valve was not tightened by whoever should've done it, along with the other maitenance work. You tighten it, slightly annoyed.

The hissing doesn't stop.

"What the..." you mutter under your breath, tightening your grip on your sidearm. The hiss seems to be coming from a far corner of the warehouse. You slowly start to make your way towards the noise. As you come around a stack of cargo bins, you notice what looks like the remains of six or seven metal crates, twisted and splintered almost beyond recognition.

Suddenly you hear a crash nearby, and all lights go out. Something growls right in front of you, and instinctively you blindly fire two shots at it. A sound of a heavy body falling.

In darkness, the sirens start howling.

You're a little curious about what you killed. Slowly, you move your boot over to the body and kick it. Upon examining your boot, you notice that you still have your toes only because it's a steel toed boot. The damn thing is oozing acid, and directly below it is...

Abdomen. The blood pours from the wound, forming a pudle of this repulsive slime. You dont have a flashlight, but you feel the bodys outline, and damn near cut yourself on a spike. FUCK! Its a fuckin' monster! Back in your childhood you were never afraid of the dark. That was childhood...

Thanks to some rather loud sirens, you almost didn't notice a rather tall monster walk up to the remains of the Spider Mastermind. In fact, you wouldn't have noticed it at all if it wasn't giving off so much heat. Before you had a chance to line up your sidearm, it raised it's arms over the remains of the Mastermind. A leg on it's far side started to twitch, then move, and then the brain started to reform....

...The shit has really hit the fan. By the size of the spider thing you have a better chance than catching a bullet in your teeth than taking it down with a fuckin' pistol. You run as the metal parts clamp back together, each *SHNIK* a reminder that your friggin' screwed. You dont bother looking back, you dont really wanna know whats going on. You duck into a crate, and kick the biggest fuckin' gun you have ever seen...

Ah hell, biggest or not it's the only thing you have. The spider thing gets up, and, with a whine, it's machine gun starts rolling. As it slowly turns to you, you duck back into the crate, and, not waiting for it to get pulverised, put the gun up and pull the trigger.

You jump back around the crate, point the gun and pull the trigger. At first nothing happens, just a whirring noise. Shit shit shit! It must be out of *BLOOSH!*. Well you were gonna think ammo before the ball flew out, smacking the creature, knocking down. It still isnt dead but its getting there.

You check the power meter on the giant gun and notice with satisfaction that it still has two charges left -- that ought to be enough to finish off this spider monstrosity. As you take aim again, you feel the gun begin to get uncomfortably warm. Even through your thick gloves, you can feel the metal quickly heating up. You quickly drop the gun as it begins to give off a faint red glow, your palms smarting from the heat. As soon as you drop it, the glow begins to subside, but you feel your body armor begin to heat up instead. Wondering what the hell is going on, you look up to see the spiderdemon standing back up after the enormous blast it just took, and beside it, you see a tall, lanky demon, shimmering with heat, its arms raised towards the ceiling, looking at you.

"Well that cant be good" you mutter as the creatures hands glow and you feel hotter. You decide hots better than dead as you shoulder the gun, withstanding the incredable heat, and another energy ball flies out, hitting the monster, its body crumpling to a bloody heap on the deckplate, and some sparks flew off and hit the spider thing. It howled in pain, but only for a few seconds, then trained its gun on you. When this is over its miller time...

Then, for some reason, the spider turns its gun on a nearby crate. As the wood splinters, you start to feel sorry for whatever's in the crate.

With one final burst, the crate falls apart and reveals a metal cube. Before your eyes, the cube starts to melt, then reforms into a large crab-like monster with slashing blades on its legs.

Damnit, it just got a hell of a lot worse... you think.

Not being one to stick around when the situation is obviously getting beyond your control (the crab had noticed you and was starting to move towards you, and the spider was in the middle of shooting another crate), you decide now would be a good time to get the fuck out of there.
Running towards the nearest door, you activate it and nearly ran back into the commotion from the horror of the sight that confronted you.
For lying there, in a pool of blood, was Butch's remains; and more importantly, there was some sort of monster eating it...

You looked at its back, kinda hunched over, and the horns. Fuck. You shoot it in the back of the head with your pistol, and it shrugged it off like it had been slapped by a fly...

Sensing the presence of fresh meat, the beast turns slowly to face you. Lifeless eyes stare out through its skull sockets, perhaps processing the degree of threat you pose. It raises its head towards the ceiling and emits a deep growl that chills you to your very bones. Then it raises a beefy arm and swings it towards you.

The claw rakes your light vest. Damn that hurt. It punches you, knocking you over, your face landing right next to a yellow chainsaw. You grab it, roll and get on your feet. The monster howls again, but the chainsaw being started drowns out that noise, you dont wanna be on this things menu so you decide to put it on a diet as you thrust the chainsaw into its stomach. The noise must have attracted that spider cause you hear a squeel and the pounding of metal feet...

I obviously didn't read the story up to this point, or if I did, I didn't understand what was going on!

He's right, I'm a total moron. SOMEONE KILL ME FOR I HAVE SINNED!!!!

The monster gets frustrated that you have a higher IQ so it opens fire on several monsters that have gathered. You wipe some sweat and run back out the door, ignoring the sounds of demons fighting. You step out the door and look up not wanting to look at Butch's body, but some force draws your face towards his torn corpse. Hes holding a double barrel shotgun. You snatch it up and say a quick thank you to his cadavre as you prepare to get to security, hoping someones alive, or some ammo is lying around...

Sirens are blaring as you exit the storage room into the hallway. The emergency lighting has come on, and the corridor is filled with an unearthly red glow. Beyond the cacophony caused by the sirens, you can faintly hear the sounds of a heavy firefight further into the base...coming straight from the direction of Security Command...

"Shit," you mumble to yourself as you cock your double barelled shotgun and begin to run down the corridor, hoping to arrive in time to join the fight before everyone in security is wiped out...

Meanwhile, back at Security Command...

"Damnit, I knew we shouldn't have gotten those spare parts," Kia Morrow swore as she reloaded her Gatling gun. "And where the hell did those metallic crabs come from?"

She loosed a few more depleted-uranium slugs in machine-gun fashion through another crab, then ran. The shit certainly had hit the fan.
