What's going on?

Recommended Posts

Somethings up with the sound in Zdoom. Occasionally, the sound will be all broken up and cackly. Turning the buffering rate up helps, but the problem fixes itself after I restart the computer. I don't know what causes this but it's annoying.

can you list some specifics eg OS, soundcard type etc

I had a similar problem with zdoom and nforce2 sound but it turned out that it was using an older driver.

Well, it's Windows 98, and I'm using a laptop, so I don't really know the sound card, probably Sound Blaster.

I'm using Zdoom V 2.0.63. It seems to only mess up if I listen to Nimrod in the laptop's CD player. It never messes up with ohter Green Day albums, tho.

Does Nimrod happen to have an "Enhanced CD" section on it? That might be one cause.

I get this error a lot. Zdoom takes a long time to load, then all the sounds are crazy-scratchy and jazz. I usualy just restart and nevermind the issue. :D
